This is in the Weed's Last Word in the Sun Herald. Sorry but they don't have links to this on the web, so you will need to get a copy of The Sun Herald to see it. Anyway, it is the Weed so the story is more than likely something he dreamt up. This is the text.
DAD'S INSIDE TIP
Jarryd Hayne's father, Manoa Thompson, has been telling plenty of his mates that the Roosters are going to make a real play for his son. Wayne Beavis, Hayne's manager, is close to Roosters chairman Nick Politis but he is a good friend of Roy Spagnolo, the Eels chairman. Talk about a tough position for Beavis to be in - what is certain, he will get Hayne the best deal around.
Why would it be a tough position for Beavis? I think he is in the best position. I'd love the manager's fee for Hayne. It is interesting that negotations with the Eels have been put on the back burner so that Hayne can concentrate on his footy. If they hold off until 1st November then he can test the market. At the end of next year we free up Willy's back-ended contract which would give us a fair amount to play with. But somehow I think Hayne will stay with the Eels.
