As do I. They could have put Joseph Forrester forward as well, the U20s centre who I'm quite sure is Aboriginal.

      Forrester has moved on apparently.
It is pretty unusual that we don't have many aboriginal players at the club (if any as many have said Jones is contracted to Newtown). We have a heap of Polynesian boys though.

the ranga that could fit in to just about every position; centre, half, hooker; and do badly.
i dont mind having him back though, as long as he is used as a reserve and nothing else.
anyway, the reason he was signed was because we have no indigenous representitive for the all stars match next year.
every team has to nominate an indigenous player to play in the team next year.

since ant mitchell left, we have no indigenous players, so we had to get jonesy back, so he can play (again) in the all stars match.
he as bout as indigenous as my dog, though
        nonsense

The Jets signed him because they need halves options.

Speaking of Indigenous Roosters, saw famous Amos Roberts running down Kent Street yesterday - still looked fit.

As pointed out Jones was signed by Newtown and we have no responsibility to have Koori players on our books to meet an allstar games requirement. One of the more random threads in recent memory.

Sorry, i meant to say that he looks about as indigenous as my dog. Doesnt take anything away from him. Again i apologise to those offended, but i didnt think there would be too many soft people on here.
Also, forrester is now at the broncos and mcgrady was stood down by the club

sure, it is a random thread, it's the off season. but think about it.
each team needs atleast one representative for each team in the all stars match.
we dont have any indigenous players as far as im aware. however ben jones, who we recently signed even though we got rid of him two years earlier, is back, and funnily enough, hes already played a game for the indigenous all stars.
its a coincidence at the very least.

Mate I believe that was classes a person as Indigenous is obviously some heritage ( no matter how much) and most importantly the wish to identify themselves as such.

I torture myself when I think of this superstar playing on the outside of a "halves pairing" of Anasta and Finch. I hope our halves play well next year and that the same thing doesn't happen to oldfield next year.

Yeah I think you are right. It is obviously a very sensitive issue considering our nation's history.
