MattO himself came on here and defended that "Bred not bought" comment and the apparent hypocrisy by stating that it is about culture and not where the players come from.

Sam is Sam Perrett but that's a long story unbeknown to many. It stems back to the Burleigh Bears ... anywho ...

The Bred not bought slogan or whatever was the "marketing brain child" of Noad and Chris O'Brien. Surprised that those t-shirts are still on sale to be honest, I thought they were taken out of circulation. They were seen as very cynical at the time and I guess not much better now.

Apart from Brisbane, it would be very difficult for any other team to win a comp without a heavy bought contingent.
