Is Minichiello a modern day great ?

Never adapted to the new role that fullback plays in our game after he got injured.

I wouldn't quite have him in the same category as Anasta. Mini is useless at times, like he showed last year, but he loves our club with a passion and is always trying to improve and put his body on the line, unlike Anasta who just doesn't give a sh1t. Last year was definitely the time to call quits, as he was behind the 8 ball for much of the season. Whether he improves next year, that highly unlikely, but a young guy like RTS can benefit from having mini around in the back 3. I would like to see RTS start at FB in round 1 next year and mini on wing. Hopefully robo actually looks in the forum for suggestions.

I don't consider mini a great. IMO to be a great you have to be great for a decade. Imo Johns, locky, JT, fittler, cam Smith, GI, billy

When I think great fullbacks Slater, Eadie, Fairfax, Lockyer comes to mind, Mini was a good solid fb but great? I don't think so.

He is the best fullback the Roosters have ever had.

The guy was on fire for 3 years like no one else. He reached the highest heights in the game.

I think he should have retired this year but he will have his swan song next season at FB & as captain I think. Hopefully he will be able to put in at the NRL standard required. He doesn't deserve to finish at Newtown.
