Agreed... there's lots of opinions flying around about how we could improve our current squad, but end of the day... who cares?

The last thing we need is conflict (e.g. some guy coming in NOW... with only a few more games to go and saying "Freddie you're doing a bad job! You should do this, this, this, this and this!!!")

End of the day it's a very MINOR change if you're to say "okay... Mini at fullback and... some other guy as 5/8..." we wouldn't magically turn around our season by doing so, and could risk even more devastating losses if we put a dodgy player in at 5/8 (you need experience and talent there! Right now that's Mini or Fitzgibbon... and putting Fitzgibbon there would be somewhat of a sick joke!)

Freddie's the captain, just let him go down with his bloody ship! Mini's not complaining about being 5/8, and he's doing a pretty good job of it too. I have no faith that anybody else in our current lineup would do a better job.

Freddy IS doing a shit job.

Mini has never played in the front line in defence other than on the wing and the last time was in 02. He has ordinary ball skills. He has no kicking game. Hes contributed heavily to our last two losses cos hes playing out of position.

Our last win Jones was at 5/8. He trained there all off season. He has a kicking game and ball skills. ANd his defence is very good.

This all leads to Pearce having to do EVERYTHING. That leads to him being targetted heavily which leads to mistakes. Even Freddy replacing Friend, our only other reasonable option, with Leroy Brown just adds to Pearce having to take more of the load.

Its not about magically turning the season around, its about avoiding the spoon now and getting a few wins to give the squad some confidence leading into next season.
