  • clubs official statement on the release of Mose Masoe

    http://www.roosters.com.au/news-disp...se-Masoe/66613

The Sydney Roosters have today announced that subject to NRL approval, Mose Masoe has been granted an immediate release from his contract to join the Penrith Panthers.

Sydney Roosters COO Football, Brian Canavan, said: “Mose has a lot to offer the NRL and the club’s decision to grant him a release was based on what we consider in the best interest of his long-term playing future.

“Mose has come through the Roosters junior grades and been a wonderful contributor to the club both on and off the field, and he leaves with our very best wishes for the future.”

Well if it meant keeping Kane and Dylan I can accept this, I think both have more to offer in the long run.

All the best to the smiling assassin. I enjoyed watching you play for us. Maybe if you were coached to your strengths at ur time here, it would be fpn going to penrith. Now go kill it somewhere else like the rest of them have.
      Is that the full story,
      or is your news limited?

the money saved here needs to go to help re-signing Cordner/RTS/Pearce as soon as possible, the club must not sit around for half the season waiting to see what SBW will do in 2014 otherwise they run the risk of losing the core of our team going forward.

Last year we seemed a prop short in my opinion. I know we have the young blokes and Sam Moa and the other big lug Aliomani (sp?) but this decision could hurt us next season. I just hope there is one more signing to be announced.

Either way all the best big Mose. You were a cult figure in your time with Easts and many thought you were destined for big things with us. Good luck big fella.

So it is true. I wasnt a Mose fan but I would like to thank him for putting his body on the line for the Rooosters & for being one of the priviled men to play for our great club.

I wish him success at Penrith but when he plays the Roosters I hope he has a quiet game.

I felt he wasnt hard enough for the size of him. He should have been belting blokes picking up a couple of 4 & 6 week suspentions along the way. Mate if 1 of your 4 props doesnt do a stretch on the sidelines during the season for fowl play then they are not doing there job properly in my eyes.

Hard was never the issue, he can't defend. I bet you could bet you could makea bigger highlights package together of missed tackles that lead to tries.

Definitely a wise decision to keep the two younger props, a good decision by the club.

Yeah totally agree. I think that is why most will understand why he is gone. Seems he really is just a gentle giant. Nothing wrong with that but when your enforcer doesn't like hurting people there is something wrong.

However, one thing about this is that it is a departure from the "he is a lovely bloke" so we keep him culture.
