Tats just make the job easier in identifying the suspect. One of the first things they look for.

Shit and you are still yapping away. I should have given him a 1000 Euros instead of 500. Bloody Dutch stoners. You just can't trust them.

                  He apparently reads the chookpen.

I won't reply individually to all of you but thanks for the concern and the smart arse giggles. I appreciate the laugh even though it was no laughing matter at the time. I'm ok but quite sore and can't really bend my leg so I'm off to the docs today but only because the old lady wants me to go.

Mickey, I hope it was SBWalkout. In this country you can quite easily go to prison for taking out at cyclist, let alone knocking one down and not stopping!

MRHK, you really should have given him more but I understand why you didn't, I mean with your income, that's a good 6 months salary!

Sorry to hear about that ralhpy. Were there any serious injuries or was it a few bumps and bruises?

I know how it feels. I was once hit by a truck when crossing the road and at the truck had run a red light and not stopped. I was in hospital for 2 weeks and was only 13 at the time but I still have a scar till today. Luckily I was hit when I had just started crossing the road and not when i was in the middle of the road. They never found the bastard who did it but it felt awful knowing there are people out there like that.

Thanks for the well wishes Davos. Nothing serious that I know of so far but who knows later. The knee is quite scuffed and going all sorts of strange colours but I think its only bruising. I am actually quite surprised I could lose that much skin through my pants!

Thats terrible what hapened to you mate. Apart from the scar, I hope everything else is ok. You know, I dont blame someone for making an honest error when it comes to pedestrians and cyclists as they are often hard to see. The problem I have is when they do something wrong and dont stop. That goes the other way also. Pedestrians now days need to be more responsible for themselves when crossing roads(your accident was different tho) and cyclists need to learn that if they want vehicles to share the roads with them that they must be willing to share it also.

                            Heal quick mate.
It's amazing where you can find bark off after a touchdown
I could tell you a few stories of my own. It makes you paranoid to the point where I wouldn't consider throwing a leg over a motorcycle without full leather/gloves etc.

                            Question.....wearing lycra or cotton fabric?

Hope you're OK Filthy. Knocking a person off their bike is one thing, but driving off without ensuring the person you hit is OK is bloody unforgiveable, in any country.

I just don't understand how any person could do that to an animal, let alone a human!

You are right about some pedestrians and cyclists though - I swear some have a deathwish with the way they have seem to have no idea of what's happening around them, nor do they care. They must think they are invincible, when they are far from it.
