Why doesnt uncle Nick make a play for Thurston?

He comes off contract 2014. This is when SBW will come off contract...why not use this money to lure Thurston to come play for us. SBW will be great, but buying a quality half is more likely to get us a premiership. Would be awesome to see our young guys steered around by him.

For years he has played in a fairly average team up in NQ...we be sweet seeing him play with our up and coming superstars!

Hopefully the reason is because he'd be 31 just into season 2014, is obviously after huge $$, has had his share of injuries, and throwing big money at someone with that profile is a recipe for disaster and shows very little forward planning

Max he'll be nearly 31 by then, too much money to outlay to get him at that stage of his career, thanks to Stuart, we missed out on him, when he left the bulldogs, he was offered to us, but Stuart said we were fine for halfbacks, so unfortunately he was one that slipped past us, and he ended up at the cowboys.
