I would genuinely have thought the Wankos and GC would appreciate the traditional clubs bringing their support to games here. I know The Stains and Souffs and Boggs usually draw numbers up here, like Easts.

    Mental.

Fact is we really have only pulled large crowds because we are not up here every year. All Sydney clubs pull bigger crowds than we do up here.

Don't our fans usually outnumber the Titans fans when we play them up there??

It makes no sense at all..

The last time we played the Boncos at Lang Park was (as you know) on a Monday & the crowd was still 26,486..Our semi against the Titans pulled 44,787..

The time before that was 2005 & the crowd was 35,592..

        As you said,mental..

We have good support in Northern NSW & SE QLd. I recall when organising my membership (which is now a useless Interstate membership) one of the club people confirmed that these areas have the second highest demographic of Roosters supporters behind Sydney. I realise they can't make everyone happy but at the very least one game at Suncorp or Skilled isn't asking too much.

I hardly think the crowds in the past few seasons we have pulled in SE QLD should be considered a blip.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't teams nominate what games they'd prefer to play at home each season???

It would appear we aren't highly regarded by the Wankos or Titties. Strange when we seem to pull decent crowds, except for the few Saturday 5.30 games we have copped at Skilled, the worst crowd time for every team, every week, every season.

These crowds do not even register a blip To the draw makers or the clubs in SE QLD

The games other than the 5.30 saturday ones have been really healthy and a lot of Easts jumpers.

I know there hasn't been enough regular games up here but I'm sure the majority will go twice a season every season if given the opportunity.

Fark me once a season would do.

As for other Sydney teams pulling bigger crowds, I can't be arsed trawling for such figures, but maybe they suffer the same fate, rare large appearances???

It would be nice to test your theory over a 5 season period, 2 games a year up here, compare the crowds etc.

                        Well i've learnt my lesson...
$85 + airfares & accomodation for my interstate membership package this year...
From now on i'll wait for the draw to come out...

I should've purchased a home games package & supplied my relatives in Sydney with tickets when i couldn't make it down...

Hope the Townsville game doesn't get moved to Darwin...

you've confused yourself there Arty - your original post contained dates and times for round 24-26. Those aren't available yet, so no idea where you got those from. Certainly not from the link you posted above, which contains no dates or times. Both nrl.com and the tele have the round details, but not the times or dates. Are you just confused, or did you doctor your original post?

No, Arty was right. You can download the draw in to an excel spreadsheet and I saved it. Couldn't be bothered formatting the whole thing as I'm too lazy so it's a bit long winded. I have bolded the rounds and dates though.

However, I think rounds 21 -26 are/were just possibilities to align the draw with the TV schedule. In saying that, check the last 6 rounds out, it wouldn't be unfathomable.

The main thing im pissed off about is that Tigers get 11 games FTA. Why are they expected to do good every year and then flop. In fact they will be in spoon contention. Anasta was their marquee signing!

Broncos 11 games. Also expecting them to have poor season. Bulldogs ten. Reasonable. Storm. Not much and we are expecting to fight other codes.

The NRL has to think whats good for the game not the $$$$$$$$$$$

The AFL doesn't feature Collingwood every Friday or Sat Night do they? Same goes for West Coast. They will have 4 teams-Collingwood, Essendon, West Coast and Swans and they will share the bulk of the season FTA games between each other and the remainders get distributed evenly.

Yes there is still some inequality but at least it not 2 teams getting half the FTA games who are also expected to under perform. And those 4 teams out of the 24 rounds will get 50% but wait by 4 teams not 2. And yes I did mention the remainder gets shared equally but guess what.....its still better than our schedule.....why? Because a team like Port who no one cares about will at least get 3-4.

Canberra get 1. Compared to Brisbane and Tigers 11. Bulldogs 10. Canberra should get 3-4 IMO. Melbourne 6.

Also they know what to show. For example NRL is showing Eels vs Tigers on a Friday Night. When its rivalry round they show an inevitable thrashing eg Bulldogs vs Eels instead of a thriller Souffs vs Roosters. AFL show Collingwood vs Carlton.

Year after year they consistently show alot of Eels games because they expect them to improve just like this year with Chris Sandow? Same thing happens this year, oh that's right this year they got Sticky so they will make the 8 this year(just like every year) so lets show alot of Eels games(borefests, Yawnion comparable games)
