I think the players would be more motivated by dollar signs stuck all over the walls.
Few of them are there cause they love The Roosters. They are there cause we pay them more than other clubs would be willing to pay them.
Unfortunately footy ain't territorial/tribal these days.

I just remembered that mini was on the wing in 02' when I saw that picture.
Personally I think it's awesome what they've done. Builds a real sense of belonging to a great club for the players. I know times have changed etc, but any player who doesn't appreciate what the club has been for the past 105 years and doesn't feel that from what we have seen is kidding.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest what the motivating factor is....as long as it gets WINS....looking back and reminiscing- nostalgia doesn't win games, hard work and dedication wins games...Creating their own legacy that people will remember for centuries, now thats gotta be motivating..

Coaching sessions are full of video sessions these days. Not all go way back to the old times but the point is, the only way forward is to look back at what you have done right and wrong in the past, make changes and get on with it. Hard work and dedication are one thing but being smart is another. You get smarter by learning and looking back at what others have done to be successful. I would rather have the smartest footy team on the planet that the toughest.
