but realistcally are we spending money on $bw or investing in him. i think when we know that we will know exactly where to play him.
as an investment he would be used sparingly to maximize his abilities from a second row, or if its a 1 years spend flog him in the centres as the number 1 go to man atleast twice in a set.
sheck is an investment as well pearce, while anasta and mini are and were spending.
This is the reason I thought of it. Inglis is now a leaner player who although is never going to be a natural fullback still wreaks havoc from FB. His body shape and style is similar to SBW in that they are both extremely powerfull ball runners.
If people have watched any RU you would realise he is quite skillfull for his size and has the speed to play from the back.
The guy was a FB until he made grade. He would have started his career at FB if the Storm never had Billy Slatter.
SBW is a completely different player, he is a backrower or lock & thats where he will play. Mark my words.
So I was thinking about where to put him. We have three quality centres already (moga, BJ & SKD) so it wouldnt make sense to put him there. We have a good backrow as well - he would obviously be great at lock or in the 2nd row but we have a few good youngsters coming through in those positions.
What position does every other team play their best athlete? Fullback!! Imagine the power and strength of him running the ball up from the back. Sure he probably isnt the most conventional fullback but he doesnt lack speed and playing at fullback would mean he sees more ball than any other position on the field.
And honestly we dont have any great options at FB, sheck will be good in a few years but is too young atm, and we all know Mini is past it.
Anyway, this idea may seem a bit crazy...thoughts?
