I am hoping sbw has the "hasler effect". Brings self confidence and belief to the team.

Having 'THAT' one player could result in a lot of money being wasted on the sidelines or running in the opposite direction!

Plus, it takes more than one to win.

Yes but a team of champions will always beat a crap team.

SBW could have the winning attitude that the club needs he may also not live up to the massive expectations but I have no doubt that when SBW runs out for the Roosters he will put all his heart into it. I like SBW & I like how he carries himself.

IMO he is a very loyal person to those that look out for him, he was a very talented League player & I have no doubt he will switch back on to League like he never left it.

Mickey, he's a mercenary. Just like the British hired German mercenaries during the revolutionary war, we're hiring him.

The things that constantly nags me about SBW.....is he any good? Admittedly, he WAS good. But that was a long time ago.

For people to state that he's in the peak of his career is a bit misguided.....which career is that? I watched the RU test last night and I reckon they'd think I was in the peak of MY career if I could play with/against mugs like that every week.....the standard of ball skills at the highest level of union leaves a lot to be desired. It's a million miles away from the NRL.

To pay a bloke in the region of $800K on what's basically a gamble smacks of desperation to me. Especially when you let him start calling the shots about when he's likely to get here and start training with the team

Who knows what the standard of Jap rugby is like...but I'm willing to bet it's not the sort of preparation a bloke needs when he hasn't played NRL for 5 years.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I think the whole episode will end in tears...and with Easts being a lot thinner in the wallet department.

I don't think anyone knows for sure mate, same as with any player's salary.

Saying that though, there's been planty of speculation from different sources that the money would be in that region. Added to this the 'fact' that he was reportedly wanting to be the highest paid player in the NRL......you don't need to be a genius to work out that it's going to be right up there with the highest earners.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it was conditional on a certain number of games being played.....As it stands, we've got plenty to lose if he doesn't fire or if he gets injured.
