  • Trent meets SBW in Japan, Quade ruled out by Roosters boss.

coach Trent Robinson has begun preparing for the arrival of Sonny Bill Williams by spending a day with the dual international in Japan.

The Australian understands Robinson, who was at Roosters headquarters yesterday, met Williams while on his off-season holiday and walked away enthused about the prospect of coaching the former Canterbury star.

The same can’t be said for his close friend Quade Cooper. The Roosters’ newly appointed chief operating officer for football, Brian Canavan, yesterday ruled out a move for the disgruntled Wallabies star, who is yet to strike a new deal with the Australian Rugby Union and has openly spoken of his desire to play rugby league alongside Williams.

“Quade has never been mentioned so I don’t think he is on the radar at all,” Canavan said. “In that specific situation, you have James Maloney. There is no need for him.”

I like this team except I would start with Friend, Seluini to the bench, Mortimer left out. Maybe replace Takaraingi with Nuuasala. Backline is spot on. Only possible change BJ for Moga. But I have a feeling Moga will start to hit his straps next year. I find it hard to leave BJ out.....very good player in the making.

give kane a bit of time with the jets and keep tasi of the bench.
morts is very versitile but i still believe a sel and jake interchange will give more dynamics, because both of these guys have such a different game. jake hasnt shown his full potencial as he has been choke with defence and limited passing options due to oxygen theif anasta. by splitting or sharing jake and sel as the 9 will only benefit the roosters. sel scoots are quick and makes good meters and is a gun marker defender. while jakes defence is consistant ly strong but has dominated his game. when he has less defence work he will have a way better attacking game.
as for morts i dare say he will be a reserve for injuries in the 7 6 9 positions. as i believe all listed are better players than morts

No the bloke is a DRunken Nth Shore Bogan, however he would offer alot more to the team from hooker.

Forgive me intrusion but you need to be corrected. He offers a lot to hookers.

                        He's our Craig Thomson.

                        Yeah, we're gonna get sued.

How do you know that he will offer the team more from hooker when he has never played there in his life?

My thoughts are that he would make a very good 5/8th. Maloney organised the Warriors a lot this year.

Do you watch the bloke play???

I may not like the bloke but i have never doubted his work ethic.

He loves to do the dirty work, get stuck in in defence, all the shitty jobs hookers and forwards do, no your halfback.

When he is the go to man 1 or 2 passes wide, he has time to think, which is far from his forte.

The bloke is quick and could wreak havoc around the ruck.

His kicking game would benefit, esp short kicking game, esp if he ran to the line.

IMO if moved to hooker, he would succeed Cam Smith in the Kangaroos hooking role.
