He might have at least had the vision to realise that the Storm were playing an up and in defensive pattern and tried something other than hit one way for 4 tackles and then let Benny weave his magic.

Criticise the Dogs half all you like yet they got there whilst or halves with all their rep experience finished 4th last or their abouts. I somewhat feel that had the Dogs had Smith for a coach and us Hassler, we would have probably swapped places in this comp and most probably have won it. That is what a good coach does, make mediocre players into finalists.

Funny Pearce is mentioed earlier and then you come up with this

Whilst I have been a bit of a critic of Pearce

I did think during the GF Had Pearce been playing for Canterbury He would have found that up and in defence out with a few long balls to the wingers Which would have made their wingers possibly think twice about jamming in like they conmtinuall were doing to shut Barba and their sweep play down

Quite possibly you are right as he throws a pretty good long pass but the unfortunate thing being how slow the Bulldogs wingers is probably why the Storm knew their tactic would be difficult to repel.

It was crying out for either of the halves to mix it up a bit, but I think they were both found lacking in that area. Reynolds is a great competitor who tries as hard as anyone, but I don't think he's that gifted as a player. Keating is just a very average performer.

Keating was totally exposed, I hardly noticed him.. Checking the stats he had 20 run metres.. Josh Reynolds to me is more gifted than either of our halves for next season. He actually was the player who troubled the storm the most with the ball and is shown up with the 164 run metres and 12 tackle breaks. He has an effortless running style and a very good step, unlike someone like Pearce where everybody in the stadium knows when he is going to try and step the opposition. The problem being the Storm defensive structure was so good that they perfectly covered in defense his potential support runners.

I agree with Reynolds he was very strong iin the GF continually taking the line on His only problem is he is a terrible hog with ball in hand

As you said Keating was exposed

Pearce's step is not only completely telegraphed and non threatening, he's actually addicted to it so badly that he's rarely able to just pin the ears back and run straight. Has to throw in the jink

I don't go along with all the criticism of Keating - any playmaker can have a quiet game, especially against the Storm. Roosters fans should know that better than most - ours have quiet 7 year tenures

My footy coach in year 8 or 9 used to always tell me that if you don't have the proper footwork, then don't try to throw a dummy otherwise you will end up being a dummy. Pearce doesn't have the footwork of a Marshall or thurston in open space, RTS on the other hand.....
                    Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

I'd take James Graham in a heartbeat. Who cares is he bit Slater. He's a metre eating hardman.

I'd take Kristian Inu for that matter too. I've always rated him. Even at Parra. Easily the buy of the year for the Dogs.

You seem to have completely glossed over his 7 missed tackles.......
