  • SBW needs a break from footy

SBW's Japanese team lost again on the weekend - that makes it at least 2 losses out of 3. Maybe even 3 losses.

Anyway just thinking that SBW would have been playing continuously from start say Feb 2012 thru to Sept 2013 by the time his 1 year contract concludes with the Roosters. Thats 18 months of top quality football with no break or no refreshing for his body.

More importantly though - he would not have had a mental break. No person can stay up for that long.

Surely we can't be expecting too much from him.

I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on this.

Exactly. It would be like playing A Grade.

I'd prefer he was doing a full pre-season for the NRL rather than having a paid Sushi holiday in land of the rising sun.

Bludging in Japan will mean he won't be up to speed to play in the NRL till at least round 10 or he could be sitting on the sidelines with an injury by then. This whole speil about him being a supreme athelete is all well and good, but it is the weekly grind of the NRL that sorts blokes out and SBW hasn't been in any grind for years playing yawnion.

        Chook.

I can't believe that his team are getting beat every week. He's such a supreme athlete that no team he plays for ever loses......He'll be on his bike soon claiming that they're 'disrespecting him'.

The final series is stupid over there too, a team can have 3 weeks off between matches and everyone from 1st to 12th play in a playoff match of some sort. Nick needs to pull some strings and get $BW out of Japan once the regular season ends on January 6, him sitting around for anywhere up to a month to only play 1 final is unacceptable, he should be here training for the upcoming NRL season like everyone else will be.

Oh please dude, boxing training is a joke. If he's fighting in the Heavyweight division, training will consist of pasta and massages. Did you see the last bloke he fought, he looked like the Michellen Man's brother with tits. Maybe he'll fight the Australian Heavyweight champion, John Hopoate. lol

                Chook.

Boxing training is a joke??..You're kidding right Chook??..Have you ever done any??..

I admit he's been fighting the Ricky May's of the world, but this next fight is against a guy who has been in the ring with Lennox Lewis,Tyson,Holyfield,Wladimir Klitschko & Michael Moorer,so it is a fight that will have credibility on the world stage..

As already mentioned, Japanese Rugby is a joke, dont worry about SBW he will be doing just enough to pick up his pay cheque, without knocking himself around, he knows what is ahead of him in the NRL. Even playing centre in union is a bludge, he hasent knocked himself around, dont worry about that. He'll be cherry ripe even after a limited pre season here, to rip and tear.

Now you really have had too many hot one's Chookman.

Apart from Iron-Men and triathletes etc, boxers would be among the fittest of all athletes.

Boxing training is ridiculous mate. Most trainers wouldn't find your workout acceptable if they didn't see any spew!

I posted a thread before commenting on the importance of cardio fitness in the shape of Boxing. This new generation of young men are a buffed up team of Buffoons who do not focus on enough fitness as their priority. How many times have we ran out of gas in the second half of games this year and fallen apart ?
                          Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Why don't you concentrate on what SBW is going to do for The Roosters rather than what he does for some second rate Japanese rugby side in some 3rd rate competition!
You probably don't agree with him rooting some hot chick in a toilet cubicle either....good on him I say!
