Friend made a lot of tackles in a game 4 years ago.... Wow how impressive.
Seriously why do people get so ****ing defensive about Friend whenever someone dare praise another hooker in the club for playing well?
Seluini was all class yesterday. Looked like a professional playing against amateurs. He should start next year getting equal game time to Friend, and then they can compete for the no.1 hooking position at this club. Absolutely no reason why Friend should just be the automatic no.9, has done nothing to earn it

He should go watch the jets because there is a player in the side who could very easily relegate him to the bench within 12 months if Friend doesn't do something about developing an attacking game. Friend would do well to study Seluini's game to pick up pointers on making quick and CORRECT attacking decisions.
Making a bunch of tackles might have been enough to impress Smith and beat out the likes of kouparitsis for the hooking role, but that ain't going to fly with an actual no.9 breathing down his neck

Seluini is a poor man's Luke, doesn't have the defence to ever be an 80 minute hooker and is wasted as a starter but their dynamic running games is a rare ability and I definitely think he was underused this year.

Considering our backrow will probably consist of at least two 80-minute players in SBW and Aubusson/Cordner (who i think will play 80 at lock consistently by the mid point of the season) that would give us more leeway with our use of the interchange and might mean that seluini could come on for Friend after 25 til just after half time then back on for the last 15 or so while Friend either subs or stays on as lock with Cordner shifting wide.

I think the games he's played in both firsts and NSW cup he's been very good and even in defence has a red hot go considering his size. His service needs a fair bit of work over the off-season, running game isn't everything. Would love to see Robinson improving both he and Friend's service for DH as well as working on Friend's kicking game. He could be a very good kicker out of dummy half, just needs to be encouraged to do it more often an knowing when is appropriate will help with that a lot.
