Hey look, we have a real hero here.
What legend, not that he did much, but you would not have a clue what Elliot did or didn't do if it was summarised into a golden book you idiot.
"Motivation is self-motivation.....I can't motivate anybody.."
John Arthur Gibson.
Not in this day and age sorry Jack. Society ain't what she used to be. I see it every day in schools. It's called intrinsic motivation and sadly that's what the majority of poor souls believe in. Kids being bribed to sit in a chair. Employees having all the power at their disposal through work conditions etc. This generation of footballers are no different. They need coaches/clubs who either have the ability to instil love for the club and it's direction/set of beliefs (broncos), or someone who is a man manager who manages/strokes their needs.
I work for myself so if I did have that problem I'd be in real trouble. I was referring to a certain player on 400k who has been bad mouthing Smithy all over the eastern suburbs for the past 2 years. Ironically, under his coaching, this player has won an international award, equalled a long standing record and played in a grand final.
I haven't been a bank teller since the early 90's Mickey! Keep up will you...And I have minions now to do my banking for me. I did check out that seafood shop near me you were telling me about but I much prefer the chicken shop Birds Galore because they have the walls plastered in Roosters memorabilia.
"Be good enough to forgive people but don't be stupid enough to trust them again."

Some interesting points but pretty flawed theories as to what motivates people I think.
The above methods might get some short term quick wins but not longer term sustainable.
You can see on the footy park the real self motivated committed guys and those that need conditions to suit. Players like mini, Jake and formally pez bust a gut every play.
These are the sort of guys jack would pick every week.

not many players would dare not turn up whilst Hasler, Bellamy or Bennett are their coach. And, i think, that alone tells how significant a coach's influence as a motivator can be
I mentioned this before when, I was talking to John the other day, if we signed all players to only one year deals, or payed them bonuses only if we made the finals, then every year we would make the top 8.
Players like FPN and Masoe would make Gallen look like a cat.
Money talks.
Comment of the year:
Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,
"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Ideally yes but most players wouldn't sign one year deals.
