      I can understand why people would think that firing smith was appropriate this year but I cannot understand some of the posts here which have people who hate Smith. I think he was the right man for the job at the right time and how can we be so sure that Robbo is the right man for the job???. Even though I suggested he would be a good coach before smith was even fired, there is never a certain outcome with any position which is held at our club.

      If someone at the end of 09 had came and told me that within 3 years we would be in a grandfinal and have shed all the crap from our club, then I would have been over the moon. If I had a time machine and I can go back three years from now to 2009, I still would pick smith as coach. He has done us a great service and something which Pricky, Anderson and Freddy himself could not do in the post-Freddy era.

      And if all the rumors of him not wanting Anasta last year are true, then I respect the man even more.

                    Most of the so called muppets are ON THE FIELD, not behind clipboards. Generation Whine will be sticking the knife into Trent before too long and so will the experts on here as well. I am sick to death of senior coaches like Brian Smith, Matt Elliott and Chris Anderson being vilified by anonymous keyboard heroes who think they are know everything because they have a season ticket. That does not give you license to behave like a disrespectful loose cannon. These men have devoted their careers to coaching young players and then they get chewed up and spat out if they don't win a grand final. Here's a news flash: Only one team can win every year! I don't know who the bigger spoilt brats are. Some of the fans or some of the players...

                      Chris Amderson was the worst caoch this club has ever had Matt Elliot was more collateral damage in regards to Smith who should have been sacked last season

                                Was Smith a brilliant coach in 2009? Or are there more factors to results than just the coach?
