What if he's unavailable due to terminal crapness? That's a real possibility.

When things were going well for us in 2010, we had hardly a bad player. Next year is a big year for every player who had an ordinary season this year, as there will be no excuse for any player now that Smiffy is gone. I expect significant improvement from most of our players, so at this stage we need to give a player like Friend the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do under Trent. If in the worst case scenario next year Friend has another ordinary season, then by all means crucify him and we will need to look for another hooker.

I hope you're right and I'm wrong mate, I really do. I like the fact that Friend is a reliable defender, and you cant fault his commitment. My problem is the speed of his delivery, it's very,very slow. Hopefully Robinson has noticed this and does a bit of extra work with him - I'm pretty sure Smith won't have done....doing any form of personal improvement didn't seem to be his strong point.

That's it mate, we will have to wait and see if he and the others improve next year. I believe that Trent will add plenty of polish to Friends game. You are right when you mention that Smiffy would not have done quality work with Friend, and I am sure that Trent will, and that he will put an end to things such as the crap Smiffy tactic of having Friend constantly going down the blind side when nothing is on.

I'd take farah in a heartbeat. An 80 min rake of his calibre doesn't become available often. Even if it came to a choice between farah and sbw i'd take farah. We have enough backrowers, what we desperately need is creativity out of dummy half.

Is it? I missed the city/country game, but i wasn't impressed with their cohesion in Origin. Farah was awesome, but he also didn't link up enough with his halves, instead running himself

I would like to know peoples thoughts on if in the hypothetical situation Friend is unavailable with injury for a month or two next season, who will share the hooking duties with Seluini?

Would his defense be up to it? Will Dean Blackman or Glenn Dumbrell be next in line, if not who else? It certainly is a very important area that will need to be addressed by Trent during the pre season, along with fullback. If Morts does leave us for the merged dragqueens, then who will be our backup in the halves?

No mate, he's returning home i believe. Dean Blackman will be a hooking option for the Jets in 2013. Too old for NYC.
