And yet he demands an asking price of reportedly 600k per season. Can you imagine how much he would be asking if he was any good???????

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Robinson's major claim to fame is that he was defensive coach in the year when offence got us to the GF.

I fail to see what all the fuss is about.

I'm reserving judgment until he's been the coach for the better part of a season

On the Ice Bath I only was able to hear a bit of it and missed out when they finally got around to us. They were focusing on the bottom 6 sides, and what it took for each of those sides to improve and if they were capable of making the top 8 next year. Could anyone fill us all in on what they said about us, and if they thought we were capable of making the 8? I heard them mention that the warriors could make the 8 next year and that they thought that the panthers couldn't. What about eels, knights and titans?

You have to give Trent a decent amount of credit for what he did with our defense that year. We were diabolical in 2009 so there was loads of improvement required. It was always going to take a bit of time and in the 2nd half of 2010 our defense was very good, for memory 2nd only to the dragons.

It took Dean Pay half a year to get our defense working really good in 2002.

All I can say is that anyone is an improvement on Old man smith. We were going around in circles this year and had no structure in attack or defence. Does anyone want to trade back robbo for Smith and Son and Elliott?

Thanks Waylander for the summary, it is a good read! I really like Trent talking about working on our culture. Over the past two years it appears our culture has been somewhat stuffed, judging by our performances and results. It is very clear to see that the players have not been happy, so their attitudes have been poor and they have not been enjoying their footy. Trent really needs to rectify this over the off season. We need a happy environment for the players, cause if they don't enjoy their footy, they are not going to be 100% committed and their performances will suffer as a consequence!

Attitude is such a big thing with a side, we need to get our players enthusiastic about wanting to work hard again! When players are enthusiastic you will see players in motion in attack, players always backing up any chance on offer, our players with good speed moving up in a line in defense. The most enthusiastic team will generally win the battle of the ruck as they are running harder, bending the line which helps to get quicker play the balls and tackling harder, moving up off the line and getting numbers into the tackle slowing down the play the ball. Winning the battle of the ruck goes such a long way to winning the game these days! You just have to look at the huge difference between $ouff$ and the raiders on the weekend. $ouff$ easily won the battle of the ruck and the raiders never looked like winning, and it really comes down to attitude and wanting to put the effort in! If Trent gets this right for us next year, along with the players we are getting, we can be a genuine premiership threat!

From what I remember we leaked plenty of points. We just relied on our ability to score more.

One thing that's for sure is that we need robbo to get the most out of him. Des hasler made Matt Orford into a dally M winning premiership captaining halfback. If robbo can do one of those things for pearce, then we're in business.

Numbered 7, the scrum half back or half back is usually involved in directing his team's play and is likely to be a very good passer. The position is sometimes referred to as "first receiver" as halfbacks are often positioned so as to be the first to receive the football from the dummy-half after a play-the-ball. This makes them important decision-makers in attack. Scrum halves are often short and fast over a short distance and should also be very capable handlers of the ball.
