Let's be honest, he can't be any worse than Smith, can he?
may of the players actually credit 2010 to robinson more than smith.

and you are right, anyone (maybe other than kearney) would be better than smith.

hey dont still my thunder I had it on the old wall 2.5 years ago thats how long ago it was done.

I think it should be a good appointment I can remember back in 2010 talking to a player that told me that Robinson was the man and ran the team he said Smith just spent all day in the office etc etc.
He is there because the players wanted him should turn out good.

You told me years ago that we would eventually end up with him. Good call.

There is one very long story attached with SBW but he shouldve been here when he was 21 -The boss checkened out.

I must say, after listening to his interview listed on this thread, i am impressed with his demeanor and knowledge of the game and his players but still a short term risk, may prove better longterm.

I just looked him up on wikipedia, 6ft 3' 101kg 30yo, I particularly enjoyed the "Controversies" section:

                Controversies
                "Squeezing" controversy

In July 2007, Pryce was accused of squeezing Sam Burgess's testicles.[8] He was later found guilty of the incident and banned for three matches.[9] He was again found guilty of a similar misconduct, against Bradford forward Andy Lynch on 22 February 2008. However, he escaped a possible eight-match ban as the disciplinary panel ruled the contact "minimal".[10]
                2003

Pryce escaped a custodial sentence for unlawful wounding, after assaulting a Bradford man. He received 120 hours community service.
                2009

In 2008 Pryce was charged along with Stuart Reardon and appeared in court on charges of assault and violence following an alleged incident at Reardon's estranged wife's house in Queensbury, Bradford. They were charged with using violence to gain entry and common assault. The charge of using violence to gain entry against both defendants was dropped after the prosecution offered no evidence.[11] In March 2009, having been found guilty of common assault, the pair were given a 12-week suspended sentence.
Imagine being Andy Lynch (whoever he is) and having your wheels squeezed, only to have it considered "minimal"!! Anyway sounds like this Pryce bloke would fit right in with our boys, a bit of A&B with a touch of on-field "squeezing" might be all we ever needed!!

the decision looks solid based on facts especially that he is familiar with the club both as player and in a coaching capacity and it certainly helpful in re forming relationships with the players he knows.i wish him and the club every success.
Looks like the deal may have been offered with options when Robinson departed from Smith

To the people happy about this appointment (particular the bloke who's wife screamed out loudly in the office after learning of the appointment), could you please explain why?
Yes the players like him....but I reckon the Newcastle players like Bennett and their season ended last week.
                    What's so good about Robinson?

It was posted on The Wall over 3 years ago that SBW met with Roosters officials at Swiss Grand Hotel in Bondi.

I can 100% confirm that The Brain had the good oil on SBW at least that long ago. He told me at least 3 years ago that SBW would come to us once his rugger commitments were done. The Brain is one bugger who knows exactly what he's talking about.

I guess my lack of enthusiasm for this appointment is due to my lack of knowledge about our new coach.
Don't really know to much about Robinson, but happy to give him a chance to see if all the positive vibes are justified.

I would have concerns that appointing such a relative unknown coach, you'd think would not have the appeal to draw players to the club down the track ?

But wish him well and hope he can get us playing good footy again, if players are enthusiastic about his appointment then that can only be a good thing !

Wow, it seems this management never learns. Lets give this relative unknown and untried coach a 3 yr deal. Who knows, it may turn out to be a good appointment, but i would have preferred JT for a 1 yr deal, see how he goes, if it looks like he's not the man for the job, then go for Bellamy or even Bennett. I can just see the headlines after rd 15 of next yrs comp when we're running 13th and looking ordinary, how good will this 3 yr deal look then.
