no, all he was saying is that Smiths coaching position was under review over the coming days and player managers have been putting forward their clients as possible contenders for the head coaching position, also he said the club wanted immediate success with SBW and Maloney coming onboard in 2013.

if Smith gets the punt in the next 2 weeks it would mean the club has missed out on Bellamy, the question would be then who is the target, I was all for Taylor to get the gig earlier in the season, but now i'm thinking we might need someone from outside the club to come in and shake the joint up a bit, we need someone to toughen up some of our younger players, i'm not sure Taylor is the person to do this.

we need someone willing to send the likes of SKD/Moga to the sandpit for hours on end and learn how to tackle, someone who has the guts to tell Mini its time to move on, someone that can undo the damage Smith has done in the last 2yrs.

Why do you make that assumption?

Smith wont be coach. An interim will be chosen. There is only 1 reason why our club would pick an interim - its because a big fish will be on his way in a years time and that big fish is Bellamy.

Bellamy's family live in QLD...would even be harder for him if he were to move to Auckland. Tunks was only speculating about who would coach, not that Elliot would be involved.

You can all forget about Bellamy coming to Easts if he's about money because those 2 billionaires who bankroll the Warriors will hand him an open cheque for a min 4 years...

If it's about a sea change without a money issue & the opportunity to coach a raw lineup we could have a very SLIM chance but the temptation of all that gold in NZ will be tooo strong to resist.

JT is too smart to accept a year caretaker role, he would not accept anything less than a few years at the helm.
