This makes sense keeping Mini as club captain, this allows the club to drop him for the "betterment of the club" once the RTS et. al. are ready. BTW, is Pearce a leader?

i know marty fairly well, a delightful young man, immensly committed to the roosters, he lives and breathes footy, a very intelligent young man, articulate and thoughtful, we could do a lot worse ie an over the hill fullback would be a disaster, then hed never retire?

Martin Kennedy also captained Australian Schoolboys in 2007

Mini deserves it and I think the boys will put in for him. My first choice is a toss up between Pearce and Cordner....its a shame Aubs went to sleep this yr he wa a contender for me too.

                      Maloney is the only option.
I don't like the idea of a new player walking in and being handed the captaincy but I don't think there is a better option.

J.W.H. is currently our best forward with Kennedy starting to make valuable metres in the middle of the field. Hargreaves made more metres than any forward including the Canterbury forwards last Saturday night with Kennedy not far behind him..

Yeah you get points when your team wins and we didn't win a lot of games.

My point all season has been that ALL teams have 2 or 3 rep players except us. We have 1... and he's lucky to be a state rep (isn't like having Gronk or JT in our team.)

                          Next year nothing will change...

Oh and Pearce/Friend in the Kangaroos training squad doesn't count coz they'll be punted as soon as some guys who have played finals footy are selected.

Basically if the Kangaroos were selected from only the bottom 8 teams, we'd still have no players running on.

I think your'e wrong on all three choices, If not Maloney then Hargreaves, we need a leader with fire in his belly, not another simpering, whimpering buffoon who captained us over seven lean years.

I'd give it to Marty if it weren't for Mini. I think it will be given to him out of his loyalty to the club and the playing group have the utmost respect for him too.

Given it some thought and Ive come back to Maubs.

Respect on and off the field, good communicator, leads by example, enough experience and Easts culture to do the job.

Only problem is he in our top 17?? He will be if he can keep up the form of the last couple of games. He used to be Mr. Consistency...Im sure he can get back to that.
