Hornby is demonstrating what a true club champion does when he can no longer compete.

What a pity Anthony Uselesschello is such an ignorant, selfish, deluded twat to not also recognise that he can no longer compete and quit for the good of the club.

It was not that long ago Hornby was talking about playing on, but I'll bet good money the merge have had a quite word in his ear between now and then.

It's another pity our club is not run as efficiently or ruthlessly.

    Chook.

I am sick and tired of reading you bag Minichiello personally.

I fully agree that his footballing ability is nowhere near first grade standard. I fully agree that he hinders our team, and that we would be far better off with Sheck at fullback.

I do not believe Minichiello is sitting back, not putting in the hard yards, and taking this club for a ride. I would hazard a guess (and I freely admit that it would be a complete guess - I have no inside info whatsoever) that he is one of the most conscientious and dedicated people in our side when it comes to diet and training.

Having seen the footage of him clearly upset having been sent off against Canberra, I find it hard to believe he doesn't give a shit.

It is very sad that it has come to this for Mini. He has had a fine career ruined by injuries, during which the fullback position has evolved more than any other jumper on the league field. He doesn't have the skills to be a modern day fullback, but not so long ago he was up there with the very best of a dying (or dead) breed.

You are correct that obviously he cannot see that he is past it. But this is not because he is selfish. It is not because he is a "twat." It is because he is blinded by a love for this club that I would guess is stronger than 99% of the players that have pulled on an Easts jersey in recent times.

He does need a tap on the shoulder. He does need to be moved on. But he does not deserve supporters taking pot shots at his personality from the comfort of their arm chairs. Wake up.

I'm calling the problem being Anthony Minichello's very old lady Ms. Biviano. As long as he's a prominent Eastern Suburbs league player, she's got a marketing ploy.

Who wants a 32 year old retiree who can't walk properly and who is pretty much unqualified for any other type of work?

I've been critical of Mini for a while now but I've never attacked him for anything but his football ability (or lack there of).

In saying that, I can't blame people for having digs because it's extremely frustrating and everyone can see that he's past it except the people that matter, and Mini himself.

I hate to bring out this old chestnut but, This is an open forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you like it or not.

I've always had a high opinion of Berrick Barnes since he debuted as an 18y.o for Brisbane under Wayne Bennett.
Utility value, goalkicker, mature & articulate, good kicking game, mid 20's in his prime etc.........Berrick would easily slot back into rleague.

A Maloney/Barnes combo would be the icing on the cake. I hope our officials think so too.

I stand by my statements as even by your admission they are factually correct. Mini is ignorant of his shortcomings. He is also selfish and deluded to retain his crucial position believing he can compete with other fullbacks playing the game. And if his elileptic mantis impersonation at Dugan does not convince you of his twatness than nothing will. WTF was he thinking?? I'll tell you what he was thinking, he was thinking he'd just been beaten cold by a superior player, cracked the shits and tried desparately to get even. For a supposed senior player and team leader that equals twat in my book.

                    Chook.

                      .

                      Chook.
Its not Mini`s fault the club re-signed him,and our selectors keep picking him.
Should our so called players that hate the coach all step down as well and lose their livelyhoods?

If he was the great club man people on here think he is then he should walk away. Like Hornby did, who has a contract and is the captain. Or like how Freddy, Lockyer, or Hindmarsh did.
