After seeing Smith in the sheds on the weekend at 1/2 time using Gatorade & water bottles to get his match plan across to the players says to me he may have coached 1 year to long.

Im all for the club to honour his contract but after seeing that plus the fact I feel he doesn't have the level of passion & desire needed to have a successful team I think he has to be moved on. Only my opinion.

The fact that every year he is here we get lower on the ladder is a major concern.

Maybe the cattle aren't bright enough to get the message....he has to resort to this to get it across?

And I'd be surprised if he doesn't. They're obviously seeing through a med-long term plan.

Having said that, I would't die in a ditch if they gave Taylor a shot at it.

i agree, id like to see smith have his last year at coach without anasta, but with some excellent talent in the side, his style of ad lib attack will suit the likes of sbw!

Not sure if serious?? It's actually a 4 year contract and he has had 3 years so far. Is 3 years not enough?? How long does he need?? Take advantage of what basics?? If they are basic why do they take so long?? Why is it that we are going backwards and not forwards?? Does it make sense to continue on with someone when things are continually going backwards??

Based on the definition of 'ad lib', you and I could coach the Roosters and improve next year. Not hard to do when at this point in time we would only have to finish 13th or better. Your point without Anasta is valid though - it is as if we have been playing 12 against 14 all year.

But I emphasise, even if we do improve with SBW/Maloney it will have nothing to do with Smith, it will be from sheer talent alone.

It was reported over the weekend that Politis likes the professionalism Smith shows he said the exact thing to my mate and his dad who are longtime Easts fans and couldnt believe it they bump into Politis on a daily basis at a coffee shop at Rushcutters Bay.

smith took us to the grand final, he mustve done something right. sure he had carney in 2010. he had anasta in 11 and 12. thats why weve done bad. we have maloney in 2013. as well as sbw, rts, moga, cordner etc. give him one more year. if things dont work out, bellamy in 2014.
