  • Sydney Roosters accountants and board

Firstly obviously the coach must go but there are some other problems. Ou accountants.

Please tell me why Mitchell Pearce is one 400k a season, SKD is on 350k a season on a 4 year deal, Martin Kennedy is on a 4 year deal and we resigned Mini.

Pearce is one of our players vital to our structure but he isnt worth 400k. He should be getting what SKD is getting and SKD should be on 250k at max. He is a great strike weapon but is injured often and doesnt create spark. Hes a tryscoring machine but there are many more like him and 350k for being able to score tries is a joke. In fact Jamie Lyon is sitting on a salary of 300k. 50k less than SKd and a more comlete centre. Manly would b nothing without him.

Martin Kennedy shouldnt be on a 4 year deal hes doing nothing. Our club should target workhorse forwards e.g Feleti Mateo, Aaron Woods, Simon Mannering, Sam Burgess, Robbie Farah, Aiden Tolman, James Graham, Dallas Johnson, Jason Ryles, Cameron Smith, Nathan Hindmarsh, Paul Gallen, Shaun Fensom, Corey Parker, Ashley Harrison etc.

We only target forwards that are big in size. The players mentione above hardly give away penalties and are machines. We had two forwards like that last yea in Jason Ryles and Nate Myles but we had to let them go. Cordner and Guerra are the only ones that have some of that workhorse spirit but are young and inexperienced.

Look at the Bulldogs for example pay what their players are worth. The only overpaid player has to be Tony Williams going there next year. He is the only player above 500k. People say they ae over the cap but when you think about it theyve paid the players what they are worth and theyve thought ahead with the new TV deal.

Now for our recruitment. James Maloney is a great addition and we might get in the finals. If only we had another goalkicker we wouldve got Foran but we had no goalkicker so we needed Maloney. Its a shame. He is much better in defence and attack. Minichiello must be replaced by RTS. This is a professional club and the Roosters have got sympathy in the way of success. They new RTS was going to become a future star and oust Mini out of fullback but since he is a good clubman they resigned Mini and let hi rot on the wing which is probably going to bench Leilua or send a better player lie Oldfield to Newtown. He should reitre. Friend was great last year dont know what happened to him

All the board is really doing is keeping us rich not progressing us. Unlike the Bulldogs, Broncos, Storm or Cowboys board they arent making ambitious plans just think that recruiting is the answe I also agee that we need to recruit but they need to get a competent coach, not overpay and overdeal players. I find this irritating.

Groat, if you believe Jamie Lyon is only on 300k then you're delusional.

Fensom is a workhorse. Mateo is flashy.

this thread is ridiculous. Even if you think pearce is overrated, have you not seen how many clubs are willing to pay him around the 500k mark when his deal expires here next year? halves are a rare commodity and he is a 22 year old with 10 odd origin games, a gf appearance and 100+ first grade games under his belt. He is also a player that the club is trying to build a team around. What did you expect him to be on?

Before his injury last year, Kennedy was immense. He hadnt really recovered from it until just before the season started and it is showing. It has showed in his form, weight and confidence. he is playing heavy this year and he hasnt had the same explosiveness because he has lacked the confidence in his body. You say the club should have tolman and woods instead. When the club recruited kennedy, he was the best young frontrower going around by a country mile. He is also only 22 with barely 50 first grade games under his belt. He loves the club and will only improve. Most frontrowers dont hit their straps till their mid-20s. He is still a kid. JWH is testament to this. He has come on massively this year imo and next year I think that he and kennedy have the potential to become one of the most formidable frontrow combinations in the game.

The reason he is on 400K is to keep him at the Club. They have a choice Goat. They pay him the 400K or probably even more shortly, or he goes and play with the Dragons or Parra. Its all well and good to say he is only worth so much, and that very well may be correct, but it comes down to whether you want him at your Club, or you don't want him, because is you offer him any less than 400K there is no way he stays here.

I'm not sure if you realize this but an accountant and a recruitment officer are two separate job descriptions which two different people run.

An recruitment officer, in our case, Peter O'Sullivan, monitors the recruitments/ contract extensions of players.

An accountant, handles funds and calculates profits and losses for taxation purposes.

Both jobs are separate to each other and each one has nothing to do with the other.

Just needed to clarify that in case any of you did not know.
              Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"
