It was really disappointing to see that only FPN cracked 100 metres (105) in all metres gained last night. Compare that to the Raiders forwards Fensom 161 metres, Papalii 129, Tilse 129 and Shillington 143 metres. Without the go forward it is difficult for Pearce to lay a good foundation for attacking football. Perhaps we did well to score 20 points and given the dodgy decision when RTS appeared to score of a kick were unlucky.

i cant see why our forwards stand as a flat first reciever with no forward momentum. back in my day the forwards had atleast a 10 meter run up and smashed the opposition, and backed up with a fast playt he ball

It's been the same all season. Smith's game plan sees alot of side to side play and a shit load of dummy half runs. The forwards are there to take the runs but are too often cut out of the play, with either blind side plays, dummy half runs and passes to our erratic backs, who usually turn over the ball by doing stupid shit. I always got taught to go forward before u go wide, but that doesn't seem to apply for us. Errors are more frequent because of this style of play which gives a shit completion rate, ruins our confidence and requires us make a heap more tackles. Throw in bad discipline and too many penalties conceded and u have a perfect recipe for failure. We should be using our big boppers more, think back to our lead upto the 2010 gf. It was because of our great forward rotation with our big guys going forward first and then playing off the back of that. In 2012 it's the opposite. We need to go back to the basics, instead of over complicating our play.

His attacking game is coming along this season and he is a defensive monster. Could be as good as Gallen 1 day and will definitely play origin. Too good a player for us to be chasing unfortunately makes to many tackles.

Sorry can't agree there in 2010 our strength was our quickand plenty of meters gained dummy half runs and quick play the balls.

Our lack of metres has been a problem for a long time. When guys like Mose are praised heavily for a long time even though they make 6-8 hitups a game for 60-70 metres, there is something very wrong. 100 metres is par.

LOL, that's what I see a game plan, i know many disagree, it's just not one that works IMO.

They had some stats the other day on FSN and we ranked mid table on most except meters gained we were by far and away last, combined with our dropped ball and ability to give away penalties, is there any wonder we are where we are???

That's why I wouldn't mind Smiff punted, not cos of mind games or zero structure or personal hatred, the things many seem to bang on about.

It's the game plan I worry about, it's the same one that only worked for 1/3 of the 2010 season.

Hopefully with playmaker(s) next season, maybe we will be able to either overcome what IMO is a bad game plan, or actually change the way we play.

Personally I don't seethe point in such a big mobile forward pack that doesn't seem to be either instructed to or able to get us a roll on.

Massive disadvantage IMO.

It all comes back to the powerade & water bottles, if they get on a good role then FPN & co can play off that.

I personally think that 1 of the water bottles should have been up front with the powerade bottle out a bit wider. Anyway if Smith can get the bottle positioning right in the sheds at 1/2 time I think this will bring success.
