  • Minichiello - worst Fullback in the comp?

Hey, don't get me wrong, I like Mini..I was absolutely loving it when he was going well at the start before he signed a contract, but there is no doubt in my mind that since then he has been the worst starting fullback in the comp. He doesn't do anything a fullback should do, he is never there to cover unless the breaks are made directly down the middle, he doesn't get to kicks in time..he is absolutely bloody rubbish at the moment.

I know there has been plenty of Mini hate, and this kind of post is annoying. But does anyone disagree?
Is he better than any of these?
    Norman/Hoffman
    Barba
    Dugan
    Gardner/Wright
    Slater
    Moltzen
    Inglis
    Zillman
    Hayne
    Locke
    Gordon
    Stewart
    Boyd
I don't think so, at a push Zillman or Moltzen, but Zillman was on fire for a good month or so before injury, and Moltzen offers more in attack - he just can't catch.

So there, we have, arguably, the worst player in one of the most important positions on the field.
    Great, goodbye Mini.

Gardner is fast but he was only promising in 2010. It'll be hard to compete with Gordon next year. Gordon is one of the best fullbacks but unfortunately hes always forced to play on the wing and he gets injured alot

Mini is $700k cheaper than any fullback mentioned above.
We could have bought Snake for $500k after Dugan and Locke negotiations fell through.
We have now spent this cash on SBW and Mini is our only option until RTS comes up to speed to fill this void.

Think he just shades Matthew Wright from the Sharks.....so that makes him 2nd worst

Compared to Mini and admittedly, the potential RTS has, we don't have long to wait.
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

Spanner, you don't need to use the veterans allowance. Whilst he is cheap as far as the cap is concerned, the old adage that if you pay peanuts you get monkeys certainly applies in this situation.

What would have Locke or Snake Stewart cost us though?
Add the $200 k onto that to buy a marquee fullback meant no SBW or Maloney.
Hopefully RTS is a quick learner...

The club has had years to find an adequate replacement. Even Phil graham showed him up in the few times he played there last season.

                        I'd prefer Minichiello than Moltzen

Not only that he would be close to the worst in the game, he is pathetic.

Don't worry though the usual idiots will come and defend him.

Maybe High Balls and Crabs but not straight forward passes

The tragedy of it all is that he was the best, not a long time ago.

                              Too busted, too old now.

The Shoemaker is keeping him there, so she can say "I'm a WAG, I'm in my 40s, I'm important."
