    Player ratings....

    Lets pretend that we are stuck in a fifa game or whatever these young kids play today. Based on the games played this year and with respect to where they are at with their career, what would you rate each player out of 100, given their attack is out of 50 and their defence is out of 50. This is what my ratings would look like:

    1.Minichiello -Attack 32/50 Defence 26/50 overall 58/100
    2. Tuivasa-Sheck-Attack 38/50 Defence 35/50 overall 73/100
    3. Moga-Attack 37/50 Defence 35/50 overall 72/100
    4. SKD-Attack 46/50 Defence 24/50 overall 70/100
    5. A. Henry- ?
    6. Anasta- Attack 25/50 Defence 27/50 overall 52/100
    7. Pearce-Attack 40/50 Defence 30/50 overall 70/100
    8. JWH- Attack 35/50 Defence 35/50 overall 70/100
    9. Friend-Attack 28/50 Defence 40/50 overall 68/100
    10. FPN-Attack 30/50 Defence 34/50 overall 64/100
    11. Bosden-Attack ?

    I think that a rating of 80/100 is the highest possible for a forward. Had SKD been a gun defender or a reasonable defender he would rank in the high 80s. I haven't seen much of Henry or Bosden so i will reserve judgement.I think our forwards need to raise their game to the next level though. Hopefully with halves that combine well we may see a more enthusiastic approach from our forwards.

    Anyway that's my stupid opinion out of the way, I would love to see what others would rate our players

    Would love to play an NRL game that rips off the FIFA 12 engine. I think maybe Moga should have a lower defensive rating with a high potential. He can hit but needs to work on his positional play.

      The system is flawed mainly because there is no account for inconsistency. Physically, someone like FPN would be very good on attack. He runs hard, can break the line, has a great offload too. But his attacking ability is negated by the fact that he only really puts in occasionally. Furthermore, attack is in different styles. FPN's style of attack (hit up hard and offload) is different to someone like Aubusson (hit holes on the fringe) or Tuivasa-Sheck (support play and agility).

      You can see the errors in the way it is presented simply by noticing that JWH rates above Pearce. Although Hargreaves is a good player, he has far less to his game than Pearce. Each different position would have different attributes, and even then, players have different roles. Someone like Tony Williams and Paul Gallen play in the same position. T-Rex might break the line more, but offensively, how does Gallen's massive workrate and go-forward measure up?
