Watching the Roosters play at the moment is like watching a snuff film in slow motion.

I believe Marty's biggest problem is that he's just trying too damn hard and the harder he tries the most stuff up he makes. It's all a matter of confidence and at the moment the bloke has none.

He came into this season without an offseason desperate to make up for playing little or no football last season and put too much pressure on himself way to soon. His form took a downward spike and he just hasn't dealt with the reality of his performances in 2012 all that well.

An injury free offseason will do him the world of good and hopefully he'll be firing on all cylinders mentally and physically in 2013.

This article is laughable. There is no way he will ever be captain at the roosters. I don't even think there will be a sPot for him once Nappa and Evans come in

at the start of the year, half of the forum was touting him as a future captain, where have they all gone?
but i understand why he is being persisited with. he showed some good form in early 2011 before his injury, and i think weve learnt from shillo.
i reckon jwh and kennedy starting, with evans and napa off the bench would be a lethal combination.

He needs to toughen up, for a big lump of a bloke he plays soft. He had 1 or 2 decent games a coupleofyears ago but just hasn't done anything since. Another of our players who has failed to improve or even play to his potential under the coaching of Smith inc.

LOL that thought was running through my head when listening to the Parra game on the ABC, only it wasn't funny at the time. I watched the Toyota Cup instead on my T-box last night. When I take my contact lenses out, it looks like first grade anyway..

we're still hear just not willing to engage in this death riding rubbish. marty is one of the most talented young frontrowers going around who has just overcome a potentially career threatening injury playing in a team that is not going well with a coach who seems to have lost the respect of many internally & externally. how can he be written off already. Btw, his leadership capabilities are rated as the best at the roosters. from memory in preseason the players and staff with some external help put together a list of key attributes in a leader. marty ticked all the boxes - well spoken, personable, leader of men, tough, committed etc

In form or out of form, MK cares more about our club far more than most of our current playing roster. And that is something the club cannot buy, although they've had many failed attempts at it.

I'm willing to forgive the bloke for one forgettable season. Geez, we've had players on our roster who have done fark all for far longer than that!!

I think that was the clearest indication that he will be captain next year. It would have been a gross insult if that prima donna ponce Anasta had turned up.
