      Souths are pretty fckuing good.

They're extremely composed and can score from anywhere.

They're confident and hard in defence.

If they can keep up this form I reckon they'll win it.

They might have gotten the rub of the green on the weekend, but I don't think there's any conspiracy.

      They've just got great momentum.

This is what I don't get Spanner. So many supporters are against Smith because they reckon he plays mind games yet the same supporters are championing Des Hasler when he's the champion of the bloody things.

Our current squad would revolt against Des for sure. Too hard and unbending. He wouldn't have a bar of their GenY shenanigans.

Souths are constantly laying over the tackled player to give their big forwards a rest. Their fate will be determined by the usual end of year politics where coaches campaign to have the rule interpretations suit their teams leading into the semis. If refs crack down on laying over the tackled player, they are gone.

Which team does the NRL want to win?

Exactly Chook56. Our current squad would be storming through Politis' door in melt down mode after less than a month of Bellamy or Hasler and their methods.

Some of these blokes don't want a coach who instils discipline and expects results, they want a social worker who 'understands' and accepts their failings.

The difference is Bellamy would be more likely to drop underperforming players and whingers and this would more quickly bring them into line. If he was here now Anasta would either be putting in 100% or dropped.. Bellamy would ensure 100% control over footballing matters and would tell Nick to butt out or he would walk.
                  ...

Absolute rubbish, we have a squad of good young men, a few may be pampered a little too much but the manipulative, destructive personalities have been weeded out by Smith and now we just need a high demanding and quality coaching staff to get the best out of them, which by the way a lot of them are silently screaming for.

Was talking to my old $ouff$ mate about yesterday's game (he went).
He was cocky as before last weekend....really concerned after yesterday & the way they leached easy points so quick.

                              One can only hope.

                                No big surprise there.
Not the first time Des had one of these.
