Good to hear that those who went enjoyed the day.
Like Greedy66, I don't tend to go to these types of things as I don't have kids either and I reckon these types of events are more suited to families where the kids can meet some of their heroes. But I like to hear about how happy it makes the parents and the kids to meet and greet the players.
It's always been a fact that some players are better suited to the meeting and greeting than others. But I don't believe that nickc(?) was being racist, just making an observation. I certainly didn't find what he posted offensive.

I went & took my young fella along. I guess there would have been about 500 people there with a BBQ (burgers & snags), jumping castle, face painting, pass the ball competition & street performers. My little fella won a bag of marshmellows & a Roosters hat in the pass the ball comp - Kane Evans was one of the boys running it.
All the first graders and a number of fringe players (Henry, Tupou, Ailaomai, Carney, Mortimer, Bosden) were there as well - the only absentee was Guerra which is understandable. My son & I lined up so he could get his footy cards signed as well as a poster. Tuivasa-Sheck and Moga were quite friendly as were Kennedy, Aubusson, Cordner, SKD, JWH & Mose. In fact they were all pretty good with the kids. The only players he didn't get were FPN & Braith. Neither of those two seemed that interested in being there and Braith was the first to up & leave. Brian Smith was also at a table signing autographs.
We stayed until the end & the last players I saw signing were RTS, Moga, Henry, SKD, JWH, Pearce, Friend & Cordner.
I was disappointed with the way the set-up to get autographs was done. The players sat at long tables with barricades between so that you could not just move along the line of tables. For some completely fuqed reason the organisers had you line up in individual lines for each table. So basically you'd line up for ages, get the 4 or 5 players on the table to sign then have to go the the end of the line for the next table and so on. Of course you had scumbags pushing in & it became a shit fight.
It would have been so much more enjoyable & sensible if they just had the one long snaking line moving along the tables.
Bumped into Horry and his beautifuil wife and lovely family as well. Great guy and punching well above his weight when it comes to his wife !!!
I imagine everyone would of been all over RTS.

JWH stayed back (seemingly of his own volition) after the rest of the ingrates left, and was a thoroughly pleasant, charismatic and gracious dude.
Oh, and I kicked both Forrester's and Evan's arses at pass-the-ball. sign me up, O'Sullivan.
As you were.

Heh - perhaps, but they weren't 'being kind' when I ringed a bullet from 15 meters out. BOOM!
Btw, Kane Evans seems to be a little, I don't know, young for firsts, IMO. Despite his bohemouth frame, he has the look of a 17 year old, albeit scaled-up (if you know what I mean). He'll need to put on another 5 kegs before next season, I reckon.Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...
