  • Taka for prop

Yesterday the much besieged Taka played the second half straight up the middle and none of this bludgeing on the wing. He did well for a change .He must be used at Prop learn to do the hard stuff .
Hang onto him ,remember he is newbie.
I though he was great in the engine room department and was a bit week in the first half lurking in the backs.
He is a prop and will become a very good ball playing prop...If used correctly.
I say Keep him or regret losing him.
That will give us four good Rooster props for next year -Taka -JWH , Kennedy and Kane Evans .
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

    What about tasi?

Taka is far too inconsistent. That last pass to mini was u7s stuff. We have far too many rocks and diamonds in our team.

Kennedy started to hit the line hard last night. It was pleasing to see him put a decent effort in.

Last pass, what about the determination to turn and chase down Stanley. That looks like a bloke who has a bit of ticker. He could is stood there and watched like a few others did but he put his head down and saved a try. If BJ didn't have a brain snap that could have been a game defining moment

Evans and Napa are still a fair way off, IMO.

Kennedy, Hargreaves and Tasi have to be three of the four props. The final position should be contested between Nuuausala, Takairangi and Masoe. All big units, Mose is a hit-up man, Taka is a ball-playing prop, and Nuuausala is somewhere in between.

The backrow balance last night was perfect. Cordner and Arona rotating the lock-forward role, with Guerra attacking the left fringe and Aubusson running on the right.

          8. Kennedy
          9. Friend
          10. Hargreaves
          11. Guerra
          12. Aubusson
          13. Cordner

          14. Arona
          15. Tasi
          16. Nuuausala / Masoe / Takairangi
          17. Seluini

If Seluini is going to be played for 8 minutes, however, you can probably afford to drop him and play Taka in that slot on the bench.

We don't NEED SBW. Our pack is not the issue. The problem was a dysfunctional spine (which hopefully Maloney will contribute towards fixing), and a backline that, although extremely talented, is young and as such is bound to be fairly inconsistent.

Taka was courageous last night. He played backrow for over 50 minutes and didn't shift onto the wing once. Not sure if many watching on TV noticed but he copped a horrific blow to the jaw early in the second half. He picked up the leg of a dragons player and as it hit the ground Taka's face landed directly on the player's bent knee. It was very surprising he didn't break his cheekbone or lose most of his teeth. Then to put on a chase like that on Stanley was inspirational and should have been game-defining as mentioned. Sure he screwed up that last pass to Mini royally but he again looked likely every touch and should be in the side every week imo. Might get a starting spot on the left next week if Guerra is out. I can see a few spiral cut outs to Moga next week that will make him look like a genius again.

One thing that surprisingly seems to have been missed regarding the sin binning and chase on stanley was the fact that it should have been a roosters try if not for a terrible ball from braith. If he passes it to taka instead of going for the glory cut out its a try for all money. Not trying to have a go at Braith here cos i thought he played his role well last night but it goes to show that one little mistake that often goes unnoticed can cost you a game, and that is what we need to cut out if we're going to be contenders next year.

He is tall, lean and has a solid palm ..... Not to mention when he uses his shoulder in attack is very hard to tackle one on one

He still ade a few mistakes here and there but with maturity and experience that will change.

He is our impact player of the future, if we can keep him.

There's bucketloads of untapped potential in Taka, a smart coach from another club will poach him for peanuts and get it out of him.

Taka is good. Has a lot of skills for a forward but in that first try the Saints scored, you can see he took the easy way out and chose to accept that the Saints forward was going to spread the ball to the wing rather than take him on. Still though, he is the future when he gets more experience.

Taka showed a lot of pace last night which was good to see. On the downside, yet again he nearly gave away try by running out of the defensive line.

We need his x-factor, his leadership and his work ethic. We need a man amongst boys. SBW or Maubs as your right side backrower? I know which I'd prefer!

I hope we can keep him. Yes he has some silly stuff in him but coming off the bench he is very handy.

Which? He was the one who chased and ankled-tapped Stanley.

I can't remember the exact time where he ran out of the line I just remember he did. Luckily saints dropped the ball when trying to take advantage.

Yeah i meant when did he rush out of the line. I can't recall him making any bad reads last night, excluding the prior try which was against 12. I remember FPN coming out off the line and opening a massive gap but i though our reads in defence were reasonably solid all night. Even with the two forward passes to morris that were called back, i think you shouldn't discredit the pressure and time allowance that was put on those passes causing them to be thrown forward.
