How well did they play friday night against Titans, imaging if they had their whole team playing. Kane Evans played outstanding..... Bring back the other team members, it would be good if the coaching staff concentrate on getting the 20s into a Grandfinal, and not letting their players play 1st grade or at newtown........

unfortunately the club doesn't value winning a NYC title, its simply a development tool for them, don't think we will see the likes of O'Sullivan/Moga play NYC again and the likes of Martin/RTS/Napa will only make the odd appearance.

That is unfortunate if the club doesn't want a side that is performing well to win or get to a grandfinal, even if it is a developing "squad - team". I would imagine the players would love to get to a grandfinal. again how sad....

A NYC grand final appearance gave impetus to players like Konrad Hurrell, Adam Reynolds and Matt Ryan.

Imagine the pride they'd have if Moga/Shecka/Evans and co came off a grand final victory into the firsts next year.

Surely they'll play in the 20's finals since the first grade team has 0 chance of playing finals footy?

That's just it Lea. The U20's boys are close and want to play together because they enjoy it and genuinely believe they can go all the way.
Unfortunately, the mad professor has different ideas.
Look at the Broncos model. Anthony Griffin was their inaugural NYC coach and enjoyed success with talented rookies. He resisted playing them in Qld Cup to harden them up. Instead, they played together & won together, got to appreciate & understand each team mates style of play. Only once they were too old for U20's did they go the next rung of the ladder - Qld Cup.
There's a reason why the Broncos moved quickly to re-sign Griffin .

So why can't the coaches realise that it would benefit the team in the long run to keep them together and build to make a grandfinal and of course keep the supporters happy...

This place makes me laugh We get people in here saying how the 20s is soft and does our players no benfit in getting them ready for 1st garde and they need to play NSW Cup to toughen up before playing 1st grade Then we look to be finals bound in the NYC and now all these players should come back and play 20s again because it will benefor them by possibly playing in a winning side

For the record I would like to see thosr who arte eligibly play in the finals On what I saw the otehr night the side thta beat Titans will be annon fodder in the finals Apart from Evans and another front rower I thought they weer very unimpressive
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Missing from the NYC team that played against the Titans were: RTS, Rhyse Martin, Usaia O'Sullivan, Dylan Napa & John Asiata. Plenty of strike power and creativity there. If TauTau was added to the mix they would go pretty close to making the GFinal and giving us suffering supporters some happiness.

Winning the 20's is overrated. People that don't watch 20's all year watch the GF and start talking up the talent. The exposure just adds to already swollen ego's and the kids start to listen to their manager's about their market value.

Evans, Napa, O'sullivan & RTS are will all be eligible for the finals, I'd be very surprised if they didn't play.

even with those guys available we would struggle to win the comp, we have struggled without a true 5/8th since McGrady was stood down, and then there was the terrible injury to Langi.

wouldn't be against Moga dropping back to NYC for the rest of the year, playing the rest of the year under Smith and the sinking ship won't do much for his confidence, he really needs to work on his urgency when he doesn't have the ball in hand, he is quite lazy chasing kicks and opposition line breaks.

I doubt Moga would qualify for NYC Fletch. From memory he has played no more than around 6 games for them. Remember he was injured for the first part of the year and didn't play at all. And he played a few games for the Jets as well before debuting in the NRL.

NC, if he played the last 5 games he would qualify, its a moot point though, Smith will keep playing him on the wing in first grade, which we all know is not his natural position, but that is another arguement.

I'm glad someone else can see that.
