    Hey Guys,

Just an update on Jack. He started the year with a slightly bulging disc in his back. He played through the pain in an attempt to make the first grade squad and prove himself at his new club. Unfortunately this injury has progressively gotten worse throughout the year. At present he is laid up, hence why he has not been named in any grade. It is looking likely that he won't play again this year, but hopefully will be back bigger and stronger next year. I will keep you updated if I have any news on his progress.

Another player thats been overlooked for guys like Arona and Mose... hard runs and tireless in defence someone we need...

I think due to Cordner being in our side Smith sees him as the same mold of player but howabout dropping Aubo and Putting him in or Mose infact!!!

Or FPN who keeps on giving penalties on The first tackle!!!!! MUPPET!

Thanks for the update Funky. Is he getting it operated on or could this be one of those re-occurring injuries if he doesn't? Plenty of talent. Just needs a fair crack.

So injury has held him back (punt) this year???

I thought it was the Smiff mind game theory???

Or did he hurt his back while reaching for his mobile at 2am after a mind game text???

                  The FlogPen .

                  You know it makes sense.

Bulging disc's wasent that Mini's main injury problem, I hope he doesnt have the same injury, hopefully, can the rest of this season, and have a good off season, then the real Jack Bosden, will emerge 'and show us hir true capabilities. Good luck with it Jack.

At this stage he is not having it operated on, however if it doesn't mend then he will have to. Hopefully a heap of rest, will see it come good and he can start the 2013 season fully fit, and move up the "pecking" order

Looks like Bosden was a late call up today for Newtown.

Might be a good attitude for some of our other blokes.

As a recent observer of the Easts team I was surprised that not many regular first grade players got dropped even though the team kept getting beaten. In regards to Bosden he got a go by Smith in the Darwin heat against North Qld. Easts got smashed and it wasn't Bosden's fault. He played a large part of '12 with very bad lower back injury. I heard he has had both hips operated on in Melbourne and is out for four months. He had the op in November. The new coach will really like Jack's attitude to the team, training, the whole lot. Jack is an excellent player and may be he will get a fair go in '13 under the new caoch.

Welcome to the forum Newtown Fan!

I agree with you about Jack. He was hard done by Brian Smith. He put in the few games he played, made a difference but was
inexplicably dropped by "he who farks around with players heads". IMO Bosden deserved a regular spot in the 17 ahead of Smith
favourites - FPN & Arona. Anyway, thank goodness he's far gone from our club.
Given the opportunity by Robbo, i've no doubt Jack will impress & become a handy asset coming off our bench.

Mate I think that was a blessing in disguise for the Jets.

Got the cash in the end.
