The problem with any signings that we do make is that the Roosters is a vacuous hole, bereft of a good club culture, with a flawed dictator at the helm, and any signings that we do make are merely knee-jerk band aid measures that don't address the root cause of the problem.

Our roster for this season, one that is almost untouched by injury, is a joke. Our spine consists of 3 reserve graders and the most overrated player in the comp. Our players do not improve year on year.

Throwing a couple more high priced signings at the problem will do very little, if anything at all

I don't necessarily agree. We made the grand final with the bulk of this team in place. Obviously we had a Dally M winning half in our team, but with his skill and ability came strong performances across the park. Confidence is an amazing thing in rugby league.

Maloney is no Carney but offers significantly more than Anasta and his game complements that of Pearce. SBW is one of the most dynamic footballers there is. These two players will make a huge difference.

We can't even beat teams when they have half their team out, we are by far the most inept team in the competition. I hope they get the spoon, they deserve it. Every week when this team is anounced I have to dry reach.

I can possibly handle him on the wing and told not to touch the ball unless it is at the end of a backline movement but if they make him captain then I'd think we are stuck with him at fullback all year. We can't make the 8 with him believing he is another Barba or Slater getting involved in most of our plays.

Agreed Dubai. It's very hard to replace arguably the comp's best 5/8 when he is on to no argument the world's worst 5/8 and expect the team to perform. There was no time to find another decent option after we released Carney.

Exactly!!! Some people on here keep living in 2010 land. How was he before 2010? How was he after 2010? That goose is deff talented but he needs to show that talent more than once every 2-3 years. Carney will always be remembered in league as the 'what could have been' guy.

exactly. he has been patchy this year and nowhere near as good as his 2010 form. he was horrible for us last year. great player but we really need to get over him. he wont come back, he was let go for the right reasons (like myles), end of story
