Jack, I think you have a serious comprehension problem. He wants a new coach so our club can move forward and the players be able to reach their potential. That is a real supporter.

Our club is being run into the ground by people who accept our current predicament.

I guess its a matter of opinion really but to me there needs to be something "unconditional" about a supporter of a sporting team. Hell I may not like our players 1-17 but whilever they run out in our colours they have my support. Coach does too.

It may be ok to post one or two critical comments about a coach or player you dont like but hundreds and hundreds as per our Fred?

Surely thats just harrassment and serving no worthwhile purpose to the club in any way.

There is one thing I've learned during my gap year down here. My Melbourne friends and colleagues just love their AFL teams so much, they would never dream of death riding their players or coaches, or debate whether or not it's worth the time and effort to attend matches. Look at how enormous their weekly crowds are. Entire families go off every weekend to enjoy themselves and the spectacle. I'm a fan by no means of the game and can't see myself ever attending one before I move home but I do admire how they make every week an event down here for everyone to get excited about, regardless of where the teams are on the ladder. It's a credit to the fans themselves too for keeping up the consistency and loyalty to their clubs. Following footy is a bit like marriage or relationships. There are days when you just want to bail but then you remember the precious good and why you made the commitment in the first place. I found this saying this morning:
"It's easy enough to stay pleasant, when life flows on like a song. But the person worthwhile is the one who will smile when everything's going wrong.”
I remember reading an article about a small loyal group of Penrith fans who stuck by the club during one of their difficult times and would always go back to the club for the presentations and offer support to their players. When they did turn around and win a grand final, the club publicly acknowledged this small group of fans by naming them one by one and saying the trophy was dedicated to them in particular for being real and true fans. There are far more upsetting and distressing issues happening in the real world, and people are tying themselves up in knots over footy players and coaches. What sort of person makes it their life's work to go on a witch hunt over a footy coach and spends hours starting numerous threads on a forum on the same hateful and negative subject?

nice work rwb. do your self a huge favour, watch a hawks game on telli and learn the rules a bit then go to the G and see them live. That is real passion , watch their fans(who dress up in everthing relating to their team)here their chants, you can even feel the on field impacts. It truly is a great game afl, but league has a slight margin over it.

you mentioned that there is more important things in the world at the moment, which i agree but there is league to take us away from that for a few hours a week. we need to feel our time off is spent in a positive way, not in a sad frustrated way. i agree the hate is getting a bit carried away with, but if the refs were up to scratch and our poor refs descions went our way we wouldnt have the hate on here we do
