  • can we fast forward to march 2013

not much to get excited about the rest of the season, doesn't look like RTS/Evans are going to get a shot at first grade now as Smith won't experiment with the team while he is trying to save his job.

on the back of what we saw last night SBW/Maloney will make a big difference to this team, looking forward to the prospect of Moga/SKD getting some decent early ball for a change.

my greatest fear for our club is that in 8 months time we are heading into another season with Smith at the helm.

As opposed to who fletch? Elliott? Taylor? Smith clones mate, you'll get the same from them as you do from Smith, adhoc, adlib footy. And if all indications are true that we're throwing the cheque book at Bellamy for 2014, no coach outside of either of those will take a one year deal.

Smith will see out his contract with Bellamy taking over in 2014 imo.

    Chook.

I think the rest of this year might be pretty good. We are playing mostly ordinary teams and should take plenty of confidence out of matching it with a couple of top 4 sides last two games.

Watch them flash home and finish a win or two out of the 8. Again.

Taylor is the polar opposite of ad lib.

Then give him the gig then. Either way, at least we'll have completely cleared the decks of the rubbish by the end of 2013 for Bellamy to take the reins.

          Chook.

You might be forgetting to factor into the equation that we're an ordinary team as well. We're 3rd last and deserve to be. Last night will knock the stuffing out of us for a while I reckon. I know I've had enough....

Seems strange to say now, but if Taylor becomes coach then I think 2013 looks very positive.

Team! Pretty much perfect. Only change i'd make is BJ into run-on (replace Aubs).

Replace Mini with BJ and you have a great team. Mini can assist Brian as his Leadership group manager and minute taker, water boy, door jam, anything that takes him off the paddock and out of the jersey.

                      Chook.

Mini was brilliant last night. Even his harshest critics would have to admit that...... or maybe they wont.

I don't think RTS is ready for first grade in such a key position. In fact I don't think he is ready for first grade at all. He's got to be ready and he's got to be right, otherwise we will just discard him just like have done so many times before. For the rest of the year I'd play him in the Toyota Cup or with the Jets, with the possibility of a game or two in first grade at the end of the season. Next year leave him at the Jets.

Running with what we know will be here:

                              1. Mini
                              2. Oldfield
                              3. Leilua
                              4. SKD
                              5. Moga
                              6. Maloney
                              7. Pearce
                              8. JWH
                              9. Friend
                              10. Kennedy
                              11. Guerra
                              12. Aubusson
                              13. Cordner

                              14. Tasi
                              15. Bosden
                              16. FPN
                              17. Seluini

                              18. Taka
                              19. Evans
                              20. Arona
                              21. Symonds
                              22. Mortimer
                              23. Tagive
                              24. Tupou
                              25. Henry

I can't see Mini or FPN getting the punt unfortunately. But next season has to be the last with us for at least one of them, with FPN needing a huge season to not be in the same boat. Taka is breathing down his neck.
