  • 2012... robbed or just cr@p

    Opinions?
    We've had:
    - Manly (winning try disallowed wrongly)
    - Cronulla (stupidity made it a draw)
    - Souffs (again stupidity... we were already in the pub celebrating when Pearce scored!!)
    - Warriors... mix of bad calls and stupidity.
    - St Merge... ROBBED by stupidity.

5 Wins = 10 extra points (okay 9 because Cronulla was a draw.)

17 + 9 = 26. The difference between equal 3rd and 3rd last!!! If we knew how to finish games, that's where we'd be.

    ---

To me this is a positive because IMO despite where we sit on the ladder, we're only a couple of decent players (Maloney and SBW + Braith GOOOOONE forever although he was decent tonight) off being a top 3 team.

SBW, SKD, Moga (playing like last night!!), Maloney (2nd top points scorer this season)... next year will be a top 8 finish I reckon.

This year... is VERY sad. At least I got to Aldi early and grabbed 4 x 6-packs of $12 Stellas. They will make the remaining few games a bit more enjoyable.

We never had a chance this year, people had some hope after last years wins at the end of the season.

      The year is done!

We had a very good chance with the right coaching staff, mentally we just aren't prepared well, we lack focus and this lack of focus has cost us many matches this season.

We've thrown away four points against Souffffs and on Anzac Day.

Refs have cost us three points (against the Sharks and the Warriors). And a great chance at two more at Brookvale.

Seven extra points and it's a whole different season.

Not robbed we just aren't tough or smart enough.

It will come though we have the talent.

youre making the point that has been rattling around my head for a little while now. Its not like those are games that we could have won - we literally had saints and souths beat but blew it; had the decisions in the manly and warriors game gone our way, we would have won (by decisions I primarily mean the match changing try/no-try being awarded to/against us.

that said, we have a lot of improvement in us (although many on here dont seem to understand that young teams are prone to this sort of thing). Ill go so far as to say that if we werent penalised out of the game in the fist half against melbourne, we were primed to give them a real shake. Im not trying to sugar coat this season just put it all into perspective. For a year where we have had kids run around, a very poor halves pairing etc, we have done reasonably well all things considered

roz, you make some fine points. I think I'm not ready to hear them just at the moment.

Using an analogy courtesy of Matt White.

The Costa Concordia was a great ship being piloted by Francesco Schettino. The Roosters have much the same problem.
