Couragious effort but to lose twice like that in a year shows what a dumb team we are. When you pat a dog on the head and it bites you, you learn from it.

Whatever the reason, I really hope it doesn't happen again and to coach smith, the loss wasn't solely the fault of the inexperienced players.

I agree with you about the intercept attempt."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

For me it has to come down to on-field leadership or the lack of it under pressure. They had time in the in-goal for the captain to underscore defending one-set, man on man, Mini back covering - 50 seconds of defence to win the game. We were all over the place when that kick was returned. Dumb but leader-less in that crucial moment. You could cope with an intercept a backline movement, even a kick through, but a basic run by a forward and a pass to a winger? - useless.

God knows what the hell the players were doing with 2 mins to go. For the whole second half we were defending like our lives depended on it. And then when we finally reap the rewards for that defence and go up by 10 points with 2 mins to go these clowns manage to fark it up by running around like headless chooks when Souffs were throwing the ball around like a hot potato.
All they had to do was hold their line and mark up like they were doing for the 38mins before that.
Taka, I give him credit for that brilliant pass to BJ, but wtf was he doing going for an intercept and coming out of the line with 2 mins to go ?! Fark me that is Rugby League 101, and he failed that.
The effort in general was lacklusture at best. In the first half the boys didnt even look like they wanted to be there. I remember at one point after 30 or 32 mins Souffs had the ball, couple of the Roosters attempted a tackle they got an offload and we still had like 3 or 4 other Roosters within tackling range and they all just stood there waiting for the other person to make the tackle. Forgive me I dont remember all the players during this incident. I remember Marty Kennedy as one of them who was just standing watching and waiting for another player to make a tackle.
There was no effort, no heart.
Thankfully they came out in the 2nd half with a bit more effort after Seluini came on. But god help us if this is the sh!t that we are going to dish up for the rest of the year heads need to roll, people need to get the sack. Whether thats the players, coaches, or at the board. Something needs to be done.
