  • Bellamy -> Roosters 2014

Craig Bellamy is heading to the Roosters if the latest rumours are anything to go by says Matty Johns.

"There have been whispers around for a long time that Bellamy is going to be Bondi bound," Matty said on Triple M Sydney.

Matty Johns described the situation as a 'perfect fit' with Bellamy and current Roosters coach Brian Smith each with a year to run on their contracts.

However Matty said the situation was "awkward" at the Roosters.

"They're a club that doesn't put up with failing coaches, moves them on. I think they're waiting for Bellamy. I think you'll see Bellamy at Bondi and he's starting to make those noises," Matty added.

Mark "MG" Geyer said there are "cracks starting to appear" in the Storm's Premiership campaign with bookies now making the Bulldogs favourite to take out the title.

"They've lost four out of their last five and in that time they haven't had their big three together," MG said.
Triple M. Dissect as you will.

If we are prepared to cheat on and off the field, he is the perfect answer.

Yes, he could create a big 3 out of Moga, Pearce and Maloney. With SBW, RTS, SKD and JWH as the cherries on top. We have the talent, only lack structure and discipline.

Don't think anything has been signed, but I know Politis is after Bellamy and pretty sure a very sizeable offer has been placed.

You take away Smith, Slater and Cronk...what is Bellamy?

Slater being down for the count for the last month has shown up just how weak the storm are.

Hell, we could give them a run for our money with our half, hooker and fullback.

Bellaches experience with brown paper bags could help.

On a lighter side i think the dogs are the gf number ones. And sadly will be around for a while looking at the 3 grades of depth. Top 5 in all . Depth is a key and so too is retention. They have both. Retention is what we lack and if $bw is here then we lose more.

If this is to eventuate Bellamy had better set the ground rules early.
He has to have full control with no interference from the top.
And if the players think that Smith plays mind games & makes it all too hard........HA!
Bellamy is the master of it.

Well I know is Smith is nowhere any answer. Coaching SOO doesn't necessarily say your a good coach cause it all depends who you're able to choose. Meninga has all those great players while here in NSW we have all the rest. Which points to me that anyone wanting to point that Bellamy couldn't win the SOO, is not a good coach, is being a little unrealistic. Bellamy made Smith, Cronk, Slater and Ingliss what they are today and even when these players are out, they still put on a good performance with which ever player they field.

My problem though is I would rather it be 2013 . Bellamy has publicly announced today that he will decide about his future at the end of the season

Yes. Absolutely. Even without Smith, Cronk and Slater they play a very structured, boring and mistake free brand of football which I like. Sure, Smith, Cronk and Slater take them to another level when they play, but find me a team who hasn't done that when there stars are playing? Manly weren't that great over Origin, nor were the Broncos, the Cowboys, the Sharks or any other team for that matter that lost a big chunk of their star contingent.

Bellamy is the style of coach who builds teams over many years. Stuart is the style of coach who inspires passion in your side over a very short period of time. One is better suited to Origin, one is better suited to club football. Not hard to guess which one is which.
