I’ve seen the brothers play quite a bit in the lower grades. They both seem to struggle with their fitness and can’t play big minutes. I hoped to see them progress but they always seem to struggle to keep up with the pace of the game. Can’t figure out why when they training full time and have youth on their side. A lot of hype for nothing really. Plus Xavier seems to get himself knocked out way too often.

I posted more than a year ago that I didnt think either of the Va'a brothers would make it in FG.
The 2 of them were always bigger than all the other kids playing when they were growing up but once you get to FG you are no longer the biggest & unless you have heaps of ticker you dont make it in FG.
Again just my opinion but neither of them will be in the NRL within 2 years & in the mean time neither of them will be a regular starter in any NRL team.

Every year 100’s of kids come to this point in there career’s. They’ve spent years bashing away in junior reps and the gyms with the dream of ons day getting a top 30 spot . Very few get through . Some come to the realisation on there own but most get a tap in the shoulder from the clubs. QLD cup is full of kids hanging on to there dream but the rest will just move on , get a trade and live a nice pain free life .
Xavier is a great kid , as are 99% of the other kids whose names you don’t know who have more potential than the Va’a brothers .
The hyperbole on this site regarding these Two is completely overblown.

Sydney Roosters youngster set to be squeezed out of the club

A young Sydney Roosters forward is set to be squeezed out of the club and has already been linked with another team as he looks to resurrect his playing career after a long list of injuries.

The Roosters will welcome in State of Origin representatives Daly Cherry-Evans and Reece Robson ahead of next season, but their arrivals have caused further issues in the club's salary cap as they look to hold onto some of their younger talent such as Hugo Savala.

With multiple players able to speak with rival teams now that the November 1 deadline has passed, a young forward has become the first player who looks set to be squeezed out of the Bondi-based side.

Despite being under contract for another 12 months, The Courier-Mail reports that Xavier Va'a has been shopped around to multiple NRL teams and could be at a new club in either the 2026 or 2027 season, having failed to cement a regular spot in the Roosters line-up.

It is understood that one of these teams is the Gold Coast Titans, who recently hired Sharks assistant coach Josh Hannay
