  • Brendan Hall diagnosed with CTE

Very sad news indeed. Definitely feel for him and his family.

Terrible news. Brendan Hall was a great player- a super defender and a real cleanskin. I would never have picked him to get this because i cant recall him ever being concussed but i guess in those days they weren't looking for concussions. I definetly remember Ron Gibbs always being concussed.

I hope Brendan gets all the help he needs

Such terrible news and sadly we are going to see more of this in future years. He was one of my favourite players during a very dark and lean time for the club. A really hard time for him and his loved ones.

Very sad for him and his family. Was working as a firey based in Redfern only a few years back. He was 2 years older than us, went to Dickson College, and was the biggest name in Canberra footy when he made the Australian Schoolboys side in 1984. If only he was 2 yards quicker he would have been a rep player at NRL level. His name has been misspelled for last the last 30 years - the correct spelling is Brendon.

Dickson College, I didn’t know that. That’s where my hubby finished high school. Brendon is a few years older though.

            A bloody sad story.

Like someone previously said, he aimed up for " US " when we weren't doing so well on the field.

All the best to him and his family.

One of my favs growing up. Wasn't the quickest but made up for it with his great passing game, tenacious defense and hard work ethic. He could break a tackle too. Very sad news. Best wishes to him and his family

As Batesmans Bay Rooster said if Hall was blessed with pace he would have been rep quality. Can't count the times he would break the line but would get run down almost immediately.

Brendon Hall was a bright light in a very dark time for Easts I wish him and his family all the best.

Pretty sure I still have the hologram card of his somewhere from when I was a kid(pretty sure it was hall on it), turn it one way it’s hall, move it the other, and it’s the rooster breaking through the emblem.
