  • Easts players form in internationals?

Haven't watched any internationals but I see that Gussie scored a double (didn't seem like a particularly impressive game? Walsh hogging the ball... scoring his obligatory double... unable to put on a big score despite a complete mismatch on paper).

Honorary mention goes to Dom Young for running down Walsh and JAC. Apparently he can defend under the right circumstances?

Pacific islands... doesn't look like anybody's playing (aside from Jennings, despite having retired from footy? Power to him).

Curious, was it an intentional move to not have 90% of our team playing internationals, or did it just turn out that way?

Probably best to watch a game before commenting Walsh was Australia’s best player and scored two tries by backing up line breaks

Toops, Bobby T & Wong line up for Tonga this arvo as well as Benny off the bench for Samoa

Did Spencer not get picked for either Australia or Samoa? or is he injured?

Yes only Teddy and rads originally pulled out
can only think Leniu did as well unless there was a small injury he was holding back
Wong, toops and Wong were all solid today
Angus and Marky mark were 2 of the 3 best players for the kangaroos Marky making 220mtr and Angus the most of the forward and scoring 2 tries while Collins was solid

last week Whyte was NZs best forward for mtrs as well

England were woeful and offered very little in attack. I was surprised we didn't put 50 on them!

The ruck was extra slow. This should change with Atkins in charge of game 2.

Gus played well and was a constant threat down the left edge. Walsh is an attacking weapon! He does everything at top speed and can burn you in a split second. Comfortably the best player in the world!

Samoa looked good and were highly entertaining against Tonga.

                  Marky also looked good.

                  Points

                  3. Walsh
                  2. Gus
                  1. Marky

PS, weakest Australian squad in forever with players like Haas choosing to play for their heritage nations.

I was kind of surprised at Angus’s selection, but he played strong and done good. Marky Mark was contained in the air, but made the most metres of any player on the field, and somehow managed to stay off the touch line when most would’ve been bundled over it.

As for Walsh, he did heaps more than Edward’s could have, and he did slow down on one his breaks to look for support, and couldn’t find any, which is possibly why he just bolted the next time…and scored. It was funny watching him slide to ground like an NFL quarterback, though.

He's a quality player but have to say he's always gonna rub me the wrong way. Players who rub me the wrong way are usually very good (I just can't accept it). That said, I'll be happy to see us flog Brisbane at club level next season...

All the Roosters gals did very well for both Aust and Samoa. Jess scored a double, Kelly, Rima, Keeley and Olivia were great. Eliza was one of Samoa's best. Tavarna is a pocket rocket and a temper to match. Love watching her play. Has a bit of the JWH about her.
