as much as i think this is just bait, the folau, lewis and SBW situation is likely to surface over the next little while anyway so might as well give my 2 cents worth...
I dont think we need folau. We have moga, RTS, SKD, tagive, leilua, oldfield forming a really strong nucleus. I also think that the folau style player we have covered in SKD and moga.
Considering SBW looks certain to come I also dont think it would be wise for us to have 2 players swapping codes on massive money coming to us in the same year considering Folau's body shape has changed drastically and SBW will need to aclimatise to the speed of the NRL. Both have also been out of the game for 2 years minimum which is quite a while. Would be very risky imo and cost us a few of our talented youngsters which I am adverse to.
In summary, folau - no; SBW/lewis - one of the two wouldnt hurt but I am nervous about SBW in particular considering he has been away from NRL for so long playing with a really low workrate than what would be required in league along with the issues that the boxing/japanese rugby/bulldogs games would causeComment

heres how I see it - you dont run 3/4s of a marathon and not finish. We have run the equivalent of a marathon by cleaning out all the deadwood over the past few years and replacing them with a very talented young squad who are coming along in leaps and bounds. We have also been recruiting intelligently. I can understand why 1 marquee player like lewis or SBW could be useful (as I highlighted in my post) but to sign all 3 would well and truly cost us our entire cap as well as a couple of our best youngsters which would basically mean that all this pain was for nothing.Originally posted by Greedy666 View Post

The broncos game in the rain, the dogs game at home, the first manly game (where harrigan even admitted we were robbed of a victory), the warriors game in NZ and anzac day v merge. I feel that that anzac day game was always going to define our season for a young team like ours. They put so much effort into it and lets be honest, absolutely belted st george however had it stolen at the very death. The affect that has on a side mentally as well as the momentum that a win there would have created is immense.
That all said, as I said in my original post only 1 of lewis/SBW would be good for us. Both however have downsides imo - we have players like lewis already and he is also pushing 30 and SBW hasnt played league for 4 years and has all these side deals going on at the same time so even if he completely honoured his roosters agreement and put in every week, surely the fact he is boxing and playing union in japan in the offseason would mean he is no where near as fresh as everyone else. Im not sure thats what I want out of a 800+k player.Comment
