With Mark N finishing up at end of 2026 and Toops most likely to finish up at the same time, there are a couple of long term wing spots up for grabs and Ramsay will have a year to establish himself and potentially nail one of those spots as well as being a fullback cover for Teddy

While I am happy to see Cody make it back from his terrible ordeal, we could have just kept Kingy.

You think King has as much potential as Ramsay Jack? I don’t think he’s got half the potential but in saying that I’m only going on a handful of games I’ve seen King play at NRL level and not been impressed very much. Ramsay on the other hand was a threat at NRL level but that was a couple of years ago. Hope he comes back even better and if so it’s imo no question to who the better player.

I wish King all the best though - he’s got heart and missed wat too many games this year being 18th man and not getting to play at either level.

Having a bloke like this in the squad is a good thing. His determination to succeed in the NRL - coming back after having his bowel removed and losing a third of his body weight - sets an example for anybody who decides they have made it and doesn't want to give 100%. When Terrell May was released, no explanation was ever give, but I do recall him saying things in an interview where he indicated that some days he "doesn't want to be there at all". Maybe that's not the kind of player or attitude the Roosters want. Ramsay is the opposite. When someone doesn't knuckle down at training and you see someone like Ramsay busting his gut (what's left of it!) it sends a big message.

He doesn't have Cody's speed or flair, granted mate. I guess I just think we haven't seen fully what King is capable of. And I look at a guy like Dylan Edwards and think someone like King (at 23 yrs) could still have plenty of improvement in him. (Although maybe Edwards is a bad marker as I think he is ridiculously overrated). But yes, agree with Spiz above about Cody's determination and resilience and setting a standard for his team mates.

There have not been any episodes of Roosters Radio since then.

Ethan King left for a better chance at playing NRL consistently - he has a better chance of breaking into the back 5 at the Cowboys than Roosters

                        Good signing....

Was an emerging NRL talent before that insidious bowel illness struck him down.

The fact he was able to come back and play any level of RL at all is an insane level of commitment, resilience and determination.

To be awarded the NSW Cup Fullback of the year, in his first year back shows the talent he once possessed is still largely there.

Seems to be a really good person as well.....

His large bowel removed, I'll say it again his large bowel removed & he returns to play the most physical game on the planet.
What a human being this guy is, its just unbelievable what he's been through.
Like you said the determination of the guy plus the ticker he's got, he's an inspiration.

I've always liked Cody Ramsey so I'm excited he's joined our club. As others have said a good solid back up option for Tedesco if anything makes him unavailable and also could probably do a job on the wing and in the centres also. 2027 he probably finds himself in the starting lineup as one of our new wingers.

Its quite often these guys that can make a difference between say top 4 or bottom 4. Injuries, suspensions and rep duties are a part of the game, and its guys like this that step in that you hope can assist to snare some points when down on troups.

some of these guys this past season (Townsend / Junior Tupou) didnt perform as hoped, and may have cost us some points. in saying that - Hugo / Sandon happily went the other way
