  • The 2025 NRLW Awards- Kernick Claims Top Prize

The Sydney Roosters NRLW squad came together on Thursday evening to celebrate a memorable 2025 season at the Club’s annual NRLW Awards Night, honouring the outstanding achievements, dedication and spirit of the playing group both on and off the field.

Held in front of players, coaches, staff, sponsors, and families, the evening recognised the individual excellence that helped define another strong campaign for the Tricolours, blending professionalism with pride in the famous red, white, and blue.

Isabelle Kelly Takes Home Try of the Year
Roosters captain Isabelle Kelly claimed Try of the Year for her spectacular four-pointer in Round 4 - a moment that embodied her leadership and class. with Amber Hall bursting through the defensive line and leaving a trail of defenders in her wake, she pops a ball to Kelly who shows the power and precision that have long made her one of the game’s elite outside backs. It was a fitting highlight in another season where she inspired teammates through example and effort.

Olivia Kernick Honoured for Her Work in the Community
Star forward Olivia Kernick was first recognised with the Community Impact Award, celebrating her ongoing contribution beyond the playing field. Kernick has been a driving force in the club’s community programs — from Indigenous education initiatives to grassroots clinics and school visits — inspiring the next generation of fans and athletes. Her warmth, authenticity, and consistent engagement with the Roosters’ supporter base made her a deserving recipient of an award that recognises heart as much as hard work.

Macie Carlile Named Rookie of the Year
Emerging forward Macie Carlile was crowned Rookie of the Year, acknowledging a breakout debut season that saw her step confidently into the top grade. Her composure, creativity, and natural game sense earned praise from teammates and coaches alike. The 19-year-old’s rapid rise is a promising sign for the future of the Roosters’ NRLW program, which continues to nurture some of the game’s most exciting young talent.

Kelly Crowned Members’ Player of the Year
Kelly’s influence extended well beyond her on-field brilliance, as she was later named the Red Rooster Members’ Player of the Year — an award voted by the club’s passionate members. The honour reflected her consistency, commitment, and connection with fans throughout the season. As captain, Kelly’s leadership and resilience were on full display week after week, making her a true fan favourite and a fitting recipient of an award driven by supporter appreciation.

    Taina Naividi Earns Players’ Player
The respect of your teammates is often the ultimate honour, and powerhouse winger Taina Naividi was celebrated with the Players’ Player Award. Known for her fearless carries and relentless defence, Naividi’s energy and humility have made her a cornerstone of the Roosters pack. The award, voted by the players themselves, reflected the deep admiration for her consistency, toughness, and team-first attitude.

Olivia Kernick Crowned KARI NRLW Player of the Year
Kernick’s incredible night continued when she was named the KARI NRLW Player of the Year for the second year in a row, the highest individual honour in the Roosters’ women’s program. Week after week, she set the standard through her tireless work in defence and relentless go-forward through the middle. Her consistency, leadership, and ability to lift those around her were central to the Roosters’ success in 2025. The dual accolades confirmed Kernick’s status as one of the competition’s most complete and respected players.

    Looking Ahead
As the evening drew to a close, the club reflected on a season defined by unity, resilience, and growth. Head Coach John Strange praised the collective effort across the squad, noting the Roosters’ continued pursuit of excellence on and off the field.

The 2025 NRLW Awards Night was not just a celebration of results, but a reminder of what makes this team special — passion, pride, and an unbreakable bond under the Roosters crest.

Thanks for posting MJ. I saw some photos on Instagram yesterday. Thanks ladies for a brilliant season and for keeping us entertained. Sheer hard work coming out of the club again to set the standard for the others.

hard to argue with kernick getting the award. obviously kelly would also have been a worthy winner, she had a phenomenal season. kernick had such a high work rate and her work was quality. played at lock and i'm not sure she missed a minute.
good to see naividi get the player's player award. that will mean a lot. gee she seems a beautiful young woman - always smiling and being positive.

Great to see some pix bit...they're next to useless without a who's who caption. We never seem to nail this unfortunately.
