Guessing he's unsigned for 2026 until further notice?
It's still early but I reckon we're getting to the point where there's no good reason to be holding back on an announcements.
Maybe I should grow some stubble, put on a Burwood accent and read out the following script as a 'hot take':

Yeah, look… big news potentially brewing out of Bondi, and this could be one of the biggest player moves we’ve seen in recent memory.
My understanding from multiple senior sources close to both clubs is that the Sydney Roosters are quietly positioning themselves to make a serious play for Manly captain Daly Cherry-Evans.
Now, on the surface this might sound unlikely as he’s a one-club player and he’s been the face of the Sea Eagles for over a decade but I’m told there’s been some very high-level conversations happening behind the scenes.
Trent Robinson’s been open about wanting another experienced voice in the halves, particularly with some uncertainty around the spine heading into next season. And Cherry-Evans... well, he ticks every box in terms of leadership, professionalism, and that Roosters polish that Nick Politis absolutely loves.
No one’s officially commenting, of course but the whispers are growing louder. Don’t be surprised if we see this story develop over the next few weeks.
Again... early days, nothing concrete yet but where there’s smoke in Bondi, there’s usually a full-blown press conference by Monday.
