He grew up in Ipswich an hour away from where I grew up. It's still 1945 up there..

I know you know where I mean as you've been to Toowoomba for work, where Mum was born. Everything has gone backwards. Crime is on the increase and they shut down the Big W national distribution centre also. Yeah, give up Bondi to pine for a Queensland you only see in glossy Instagram posts..not bloody likely..

Even Perth would pose a challenge - Players Partners often have their own careers and if Kids are involved and settled in school then not always a good thing to uproot them and take them to a new place away from their comfort zone.

I remember Johnathon Thurston's story about telling his Wife he will signing with Penrith - Her reply being you'll be going by yourself - wasn't keen on moving and losing her family and friends support network.
Ryan Cross went over to Perth for a while and had a banking job there too. Then I used to see him at Martin Place all the time when he moved back.

Pretty sure a few seasons ago Dragons players pulled that excuse/card saying "training, living and on the odd occasion playing at Wollongong" was difficult and it became an issue in regard to travelling and these were blokes that lived in Sydney at the time (1hr 20 mins approx) driving in the car up and down the Princess Highway (M1).

So yeah ... being homesick is in the deck of cards to utilise as an excuse when it comes to clubs and contract talks ... it is what it is no matter how weak or pathetic the rationale is !

Ben Hunt used the homesick excuse to leave Saints, but guess what, he met with Roosters and considered signing with us until we pulled out.

Sure, he'd come off a long injury layoff but in previous games he was on fire.

I'm concerned that if Walker is having an off game we will struggle to score points. When your forwards are dominating there’s no excuses not to create. I accept that he's unlikely ever going to be a game management type of halfback.

trewhella rightly pointed out that Savala's strengths could also be his weaknesses. His style compliments Walker but I'm hoping his running game improves as we will need more from him in 2026.
What stank were the two tries Marky let in down his wing.
Sam is the best half back we have.
At the risk of sounding boring...we were run over by the Sharks.
Our rebuilding year went ok...after the disasters of the trials, and round one thrashing by the eventual premiers.
We have a long way to go to reach top shelf/premiers standard.

Nobody in their right minds would take the wife and kids to Port Moresby they have to target the single guys my mates brother went back home to visit family not long ago pulled up at basilica intersection and was shot through the drivers side window with a home made gun lucky for him it wasn’t a proper pistol or it would have killed him you can’t predict what happens in moresby better to stay away

Hopefully that is the case with Walker yet I am sceptical. He is an excellent player but I view him as a non team player.
Walker has played 86 games to date. He should pass the 100 game mark just after mid-season next year. He will turn 24 around the same time. He will still probably be several years away from peaking as a half. IMO most halves are at their best from their late 20’s into their early 30’s.

no doubt sammy can improve but if he'd been without injury the last 4 years i'm pretty sure we would have won premierships

2024 was the season that could've been.

i don't understand what saying life on my knees must be hard, but whatever.

there might be some on here who have valid complaints about king salvo, but you're not one of them. you started calling innocent bystanders 'sally' as a way of implying that he was the sort of bloke who would have multiple accounts. you goaded him. did you start threads attacking him? maybe that was other posters here, but you're the kind of bloke who would. no surprise he went a bit feral at the end there.

you're saying that he was banned 3 times but he was suspended temporarily twice and banned once. hardly a hanging offence on here. from memory when this question came up when people were discussing baron von voodoo your contribution was that he was part of the furniture.

you don't like him. fair enough. but so what, live and let live
