Maubs doesn't have anywhere near the ball playing ability of Luke Lewis, so I can't really fathom how they're even comparable nor what your point is. Aubusson is a hole runner, has limited ball playing skills, high workrate in defence but not highly involved in attack and has never really been able to break the line himself or create opportunities for his outside men well. Nothing like Luke Lewis. The only thing they share in common is they play in the backrow, when's the last time you saw Lewis play?
You just can't help yourself with Braith can you? The "temperament" to be a backrower?...But as you say, that's all irrelevant.

The comparison between Maubs and Lewis is pace - or lack of it. You can waffle on about hole running, ball playing and whatever else, but slow centres, regardless of whatever other skills they possess, don't work. If Luke Lewis played in the centres, he would be the slowest centre (except for maybe Maubs) in the comp. Jamie Lyon has yards on them both in terms of pace, and has exponentially more in terms of footwork and centre "smarts".

You want to pay $400K plus for the slowest centre in the comp. That is plain silly.

What Lewis is, is what Braith should be. A mobile, ball playing, hardworking, backrower.

Lovely guy Braith, world class bloke but as a backrower he makes Ben Ross look like Ben Barba.

His stats last year in a backrow shirt were not of NSW Cup standard let alone NRL 1st Grader standard.

He seems to provide little more than a roadblock at whatever possie he fills these days. I am interested to see what SuperCoach Sheens makes of him next year.
Because all players should be judged on one season.

          Luke Lewis is gold.

Play him in backrow with SBW and Cordner. Piss off the other impostors.

Rotate Oldfield with RTS/Moga on wing until both develop into natural positions (bye mini). Leilua+SKD centers.

Shore up edge defence with our SBW/Cordner. Hitting holes off Maloney's distribution.

Lewis isn't as slow as you like to make out and I think you forget that for a large part of his Rugby League career he was an outside back, based on what do you think he doesn't have the smarts to play in the centres? It's surely not the time he spent in the outside backs at NRL, State of Origin and international level?

I'll agree to disagree because quite clearly you rate athleticism over skill far higher than I do and we'll never agree on that.

Guerra has been killing it lately, I'm sure you don't see him as an imposter but I'm not sure how you can justify dropping him?

Yeah Guerra on bench. He's good and has potential. But he's not origin or international standard (yet) like the other two.

Happy for someone to make the argument for him over Cordner in the run-on but I think Cordner has way more potential.

Yep we don't need another backrower!

Cordner's one of the few backrowers we have with the ability to play in the middle third, I don't think any of Guerra, SBW or Lewis are up to it defensively. Cordner has to be lock, although I doubt we'll sign Lewis so it's somewhat irrelevant. Much rather see us sign a good prop.

Yep, but four years is bad business.
